Adobe Interns Create the Future

Earlier this month, WayUp revealed to us that Adobe made their list of 2020 Internship Programs. As this is the first time that we’ve held a virtual internship program, we couldn’t be prouder of making the list.

This year we welcomed over 700 interns globally, so when we set out to host them digitally, we wanted to accomplish one thing: to create an amazing digital experience. True to Adobe’s mission of changing the world through digital experiences, we’re confident that we delivered on this promise. Along with a variety of different virtual networking sessions and mixers, social challenges, and other ways of building community, here are some of the highlights.

Intern Summits

Typically, our annual Intern Summits are flagship in-person events where we host undergraduate and MBA interns across the globe to our headquarters to build community, hear directly from our leaders, and experience valuable career development sessions. This year we did the same, but digitally. Through video conferencing, interns heard from inspiring leaders like Adobe CHRO Gloria Chen, Chief Product Officer Scott Belsky, and more. Not only that, interns were mailed customized swag, watched product demos, and attended impactful breakout sessions.

Meet the CEO

Who better to tell the Adobe story than the CEO himself? This popular event has interns asking questions directly to our CEO, Shantanu Narayen. We understand that interns are the future of the industry and they’re eager to gain valuable career insights. During our Meet the CEO event this year, Shantanu answered questions around Adobe’s business strategy, his personal background, advice for disrupting the industry, diversity & inclusion, and more.

Intern Insider

When interns come to Adobe they work side by side with the tech industry’s biggest thinkers and creators. To facilitate a greater connection between interns and Adobe leaders, as well past interns, we created a video series called Intern Insider. In this video series, interns got the chance to interview leaders from across the company and past interns to gain valuable career insights and perspectives. Check out all our episodes of Intern Insider here.

Intern Project Expo

The Intern Project Expo is a when interns get to show-off their individual projects to employees and leaders. They present in a science-fair-like setting, while also networking with their peers and colleagues from across the business. It’s a cumulation of all their hard work! To broaden our Intern Project Expo, we moved the program online for the first time last year to include our Adobe India interns. Through a customized online portal, interns had the chance to upload their completed projects, and employees got to vote on projects they thought were the most innovative. This year was the perfect opportunity to open up the Expo to all our interns from around the world to participate. We are proud to announce that this year we saw over 500 projects uploaded, with interns participating from 9 countries. And after a week of voting, we collected over 15,000 total votes casted from employees and interns. Here’s Hai Jung Hsu on what it was like winning the Intern Project Expo.

It was a challenge for everyone—interns and employees alike—to make sure this virtual internship was successful, but we are proud of the achievements we made this year. As many of our interns start to return back to school, we’re excited to see how they’ll use their internship experience to create the future.

Don’t just take our word for it though. Search for #AdobeIntern on LinkedIn to see what our interns to had to say. Here are some of our favorites from National Intern Day:
