Hidden Gems in Acrobat DC: Convert Camera Images Into Editable PDFs

As a busy professional, you know that it’s critical to focus on being strategic and creative in your job. It’s easy to get bogged down with daily administrative tasks, which can be laborious and repetitive – not to mention time consuming! According to Adobe research, 83% of professionals feel their success and ability to be productive at work are slowed down by outdated ways of working with documents. But there is no need to worry. Acrobat DC allows you to streamline a number of processes that can eat up precious time.

For example, when a co-worker hands you a paper document that you need to be digital, use your phone’s Acrobat Reader DC app to capture an image of the document, recognize the text, and convert it into an editable PDF.

1. In the Acrobat Reader DC mobile app*, tap Camera to PDF from the Tool Switcher.

2. Tap Take Photo and snap a picture of your document(s).

4. After conversion, the file is uploaded to Document Cloud and appears both in the Recently Converted Files list and the Acrobat Outbox.

  1. In the desktop version of Acrobat DC, select Document Cloud from the Storage location on the Home screen, and open the PDF of your camera image.
  2. Select Enhance Scans from the right-hand pane, then select Camera Image from the Enhance dropdown.

  1. Adjust the page border and select Enhance Page.

  1. Click the X in the upper-right corner to close Enhance Scans.
  2. Click Edit PDF in the right-hand pane to automatically run text recognition and edit the document.

*When used in conjunction with an Acrobat DC subscription. This feature is not available on Windows Phone. For the best experience, make sure Mobile Link is turned on under My Account in the Acrobat Reader DC mobile app.
