High Tech Youth Soundtracks Their Vibe

We’re excited to present Project Vibe, a new mobile app from Adobe Labs that allows you to create dynamic video stories with music, photos and videos on your phone.

We engaged young music producers to fuel the latest version of Project Vibe, which just hit the app store. Mathew Tema Maimoaga, an 18 year-old Samoan music producer from Auckland, New Zealand, was one of several youth from the nonprofit High Tech Youth that contributed new tracks.

High Tech Youth is a creative nonprofit based in New Zealand that empowers young people and communities by linking cultural knowledge and technology within a highly collaborative learning community. We recently honored High Tech Youth’s innovative programming with our Creative Catalyst award.

Here’s what Mathew had to say about how he got into audio production:

I first experienced beat making at a young age of 10 at Studio 274, an after school drop in center for youth. Ever since then I have loved and enjoyed music. From making beats to working with artists, I have found a real passion. This has led me into studying at MAINZ in Audio Engineering and Music Production.
