Adobe Customers Benefit with Google Play Apps for Chromebook

Over the last few years there’s been an increasing shift in the hardware market from laptops to more powerful 2-in-1 tablet devices like the Google Chromebook, iPad Pro or Surface Pro. People gravitate towards these hybrid devices because they hit the sweet spot — the joy of a touch screen tablet and the productivity power of a laptop. In fact, 4.9 million detachable tablets were sold in the first quarter of 2016, showing a triple digit year-over-year growth. In addition, Chromebooks outsold Macs for the first time in the US recently. With such rapid adoption, it’s no wonder why more and more people are looking to access the apps they use and love on these new devices.

That’s why we’re excited to hear about Google’s latest move! Chromebooks will soon support the massive amount of apps on the Google Play store to take Chromebook customers to new heights with work and play. This move opens the floodgates for all sorts of new experiences on Chromebooks for enterprise users, creatives, students and everyone in between.

With more than 300 million downloads of Acrobat Reader today on Android devices — and millions more across creative mobile apps — Chromebook users will be able to take advantage of innovative Adobe products, providing new ways to create and work on the go, as well as leverage the deep integration with Adobe flagship desktop tools, including Acrobat DC, Adobe Sign apps, Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC. In fact, Acrobat DC users are already seeing amazing advancements on Android with our recent integration with Dropbox.

As more people move towards these powerful new devices, and bring them into their everyday work, we’ll continue delivering the experiences that wow our customers, regardless of their device choice. Through apps like Acrobat Reader, we’re devoted to making the Chromebook a viable companion to serious enterprise work – and that devotion is why Reader has been the #1 PDF app on Android for years. We’re thrilled to help Chromebook users work with their PDFs no matter where their life takes them!
