Nordic Creative Talent Award winners: Beatrice is gonna kick your butt

Already equipped with a personal visual language and the knowledge of how to put it to work in different formats without losing her originality. One of her works is titled ”I’m gonna kick your butt!” We know she will.

Graphic design student Beatrice Borgström from Finland won one of Adobe’s acknowledged Nordic Creative Talent Awards last year.

Read the jury’s motivation for selecting Beatrice Borgström:

”Already equipped with a personal visual language and the knowledge of how to put it to work in different formats without losing her originality. One of her works is titled ”I’m gonna kick your butt!” We know she will. Therefore Beatrice Borgström deserves the title Creative Talent.”

The Finnish illustrator Linda Linko is a big inspiration to Beatrice. She wants to design something with her hands and get inspired:

”Graphic design is my thing and I want to focus on that,” says Beatrice Borgström.

How does it feel to be a winner of the Nordic Creative Talent Award?

”I just couldn’t believe it, when I was selected as one of the winners,” says Beatrice Borgström.

“Unveiled” is the name of the project which was organized by young and talented Finnish designers from Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts. “Unveiled” participated in DMY Berlin in June 2015. “I’m the graphic designer of this project. I did everything from flyers and invitations, to the tapings of the bus, in which we travelled in from Lahti, Finland to Berlin, Germany. This is probably the most interesting project I’ve done so far. I got to be really creative through out this whole project and that kept me really motivated and excited,” says Beatrice Borgstöm.

Beatrice’s main tool is InDesign. She uses InDesign almost all of the time when creating posters, books, magazines etc. Her favourite tool is the pen tool in Illustrator.

This project is hand drawn, then scanned and made to vector in illustrator CC.

School project to create a whole page illustration for an article. Mixed media: Hand drawn and digital collage made with Photoshop CC.
