Ad Council and Business Insider Spotlight Adobe Leaders

What a week! The industry is shining a spotlight on our CEO and CMO with two separate leadership awards. CEO Shantanu Narayen was honored with the Ad Council’s 63rd Public Service Award and CMO Ann Lewnes was ranked No. 8 on Business Insider’s inaugural list of “50 Most Innovative CMOs.”

Ad Council Public Service Award

Last night, Shantanu accepted the Ad Council Public Service award at an annual dinner attended by more than 1,400 executives from the media, advertising and corporate communities. Shantanu was recognized for being a leader in corporate responsibility and for building a legacy of sustainable business practices and philanthropy.

In his remarks, Shantanu talked about the power of creativity to make the world a better place. He praised the Ad Council for its high-impact campaigns on issues like texting while driving, helping pets get adopted, raising autism awareness and fighting online bullying. He closed his speech, “Thank you for the incredible work you do, and on behalf of Adobe’s employees around the world, thank you for the honor of this award. With the power of creativity and commitment to creating change – I think together we can do just about anything.”

Business Insider’s list of “50 Most Innovative CMOs”

Earlier this week Ann was ranked No. 8 on Business Insider’s list of “50 Most Innovative CMOs,” which is a new list that recognizes marketing leaders who are thriving in an industry undergoing rapid disruption. Others on the list included Netflix’s Kelly Bennett, Airbnb’s Jonathan Mildenhall, and Google’s Lorraine Twohill.

Business Insider recognized Ann for building awareness for Adobe’s brand beyond creative products to include our full Digital Marketing business. It cited the launch of Adobe’s Digital Price Index, an economic indicator we created using Adobe Marketing Cloud online shopping data, as a proof point. Also, the publication noted Ann’s work to make our marketing more customer centric and the creative ad campaigns she’s led that are “reminiscent of a consumer brand.”

Business Insider ranked each CMO based on a number of attributes, including: Connectors, Integrators, Storytellers and Rebels. Ann was aptly recognized as a “Rebel,” which is a CMO who is “leading marketing efforts in a completely different direction.”
