With Black Friday just around the corner, you’re probably setting aside an envelope, file folder or even a shoebox for the avalanche of holiday shopping receipts that you’ll need to hang onto this season. This year, we have a better idea!

Today we’ve added a brand new, and completely free, Scan tool into Acrobat Reader for iOS and Android. In fact, more than 300 million people who already have the Reader app on their phones and tablets can simply update and start scanning today.

Scan allows anyone to snap a photo of anything and turn it into a clean, storable and sharable PDF right within Acrobat Reader mobile. This lets you digitize everything from shopping receipts and tax documents to school permission slips and favorite recipes – anything you need to keep track of to simplify and organize your day-to-day life.

At work, Scan is an enterprise-ready tool for converting paper documents, forms, contracts, business cards and even those whiteboard snapshots into PDFs that can be incorporated into your existing digital workflow.

Scan multiple pages into a single PDF and reorder them as you like. Mark-up a proposal or scan, annotate and electronically sign a contract on-the-go without leaving Acrobat Reader. Share it directly from your device or save it to where you work today – in Box, Document Cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, SharePoint, or any of our integrated storage options.

Most importantly, it’s super easy to use. Simply point your camera at what you want to capture and we do the rest, automatically detecting and focusing on the boundaries of paper documents, correcting perspective and making the text sharp and easy to read. All of the behind the scenes magic is actually powered by Adobe Sensei, a set of intelligent services that are baked into Adobe Document Cloud, including our mobile apps.

We hope that mobile scanning with Reader helps you keep both your personal and business lives organized by eliminating excess paper and keeping track of all of your holiday receipts, forms, tax documents, contracts and anything else that you want to convert to digital.
