Past to Present – Adobe India at Grace Hopper

2016ghc From December 7 – 9, Adobe India will be participating again in this year’s 2016 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, India’s largest gathering of women technologists. With each passing year, we get more excited to meet the thousands of talented women who will be attending the conference so that we can show them a slice of Adobe life.

To usher in this year’s conference, we take a look back at three women who encountered Adobe at last year’s Grace Hopper Conference, and who have since joined us as employees. Read their stories below, where they explain their experiences at GHC last year, what they’re working on now, and why they chose Adobe.

shuchita Shuchita Banthia, Member of Technical Staff

“I had an amazing time at Grace Hopper last year. Being a student scholar, there were two parts to my experience—meeting and connecting with the other student scholars having similar experiences as me and getting to know the journeys of these eminent women from the industry which was incredibly inspiring. Be ready for it! I attended GHCI during my final year in school, where I ran into some Adobe employees who shared their stories and experiences about the company. Later, even though I had two other offers, I chose Adobe because I knew they invested in growing their employees professionally and personally. Now, I primarily work with the Mobile Ecosystem team in Noida and am responsible for development and feature integrations for Adobe Color Web. I also work on multiple products and projects, where my manager leaves it open to our team to find new things to do and explore. So far, my time here has been enriching—I’ve improved as a person, and have had all around development.”

srishti Srishti Gupta, Member of Technical Staff

“Prior to joining Adobe I attended Grace Hopper a couple of times. It’s such a fun experience, and so inspirational. Being able to connect with others and having the chance to listen to the speakers is amazing. The last time I attended I had the chance to interact with Adobe employees, and they really showed how much the company cares for their employees. That really stuck with me. I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge and work on projects that reached a worldwide scale, which is why I decided to join Adobe. Now, I handle the plans and downloads pages for Adobe products like Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, etc. As part of this team, I am responsible for taking care of the changes and updates required to support new products and promotional offers, which is really important because these products bring the most revenue to the company. It’s nice to know that my work affects the company in a big way. For people attending this year’s GHC, I encourage them not to be shy. Try everything, and make the most of your time at the conference—be inspired by the people there.”

anjan Anjan Kaur, Member of Technical Staff

“I actually didn’t have the chance to attend Grace Hopper last year—I was accepted, but due to a change in schedule, I wasn’t able to go. However, I still had the chance to interview with Adobe, and they were so cooperative! When I was later extended an offer, I knew right away I wanted to work at Adobe. It was a dream come true! I grew up seeing and using Adobe products, and I knew I wanted to help build their products. Today, I’m working as a Member of the Technical Staff (MTS) where I am part of Metadata team in CoreTech. My role as an MTS involves working on projects that use Adobe’s Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) libraries to showcase relations between digital assets, porting XMP libraries to Android platforms, and solving client bugs and issues. So far I’ve had the opportunity to learn so many new technologies, which is incredible, exciting and challenging! Work at Adobe has been great because there are always seminars happening and exposure to leaders, where you learn how you should grow yourself and what you should learn. If you come to Adobe you’ll have fun.”
