Why I Chose To Contribute to Adobe Stock
Adobe Stock’s Contributor community is an incredibly talented group of content creators. They are food photographers, travel photographers, and lifestyle photographers. They are film makers, editors, and cinematographers. They are teachers, speakers, and writers. Some have been contributing to stock for many years, and others have joined more recently. Some do stock full time, while others see it as a way to diversify their existing portfolio.
Their subjects and expertise are diverse, as are their reasons for joining Adobe Stock. We spoke to six creatives about why they decided to become an Adobe Stock Contributor.
Jared Platt, Lifestyle Photographer and Teacher
“Adobe has created an impressive ecosystem where creatives can now collaborate to design anything we can dream up. It is that ecosystem, or connection between every creative on the Creative Cloud that makes Adobe Stock so brilliant. I am a photographer and there are millions of illustrations, editors, film makers and designers who need images and videos, and I need them to see my work. My images and videos are now available inside their copy of Photoshop CC, InDesign CC, Illustrator CC and Premiere CC, and if they like my work for their design or project, I get paid. Adobe just opened the world up to me, why wouldn’t I take advantage of that?”

Lindsay Adler, Fashion Photographer and Speaker
“As a fashion and beauty photographer, I aim to create unique imagery that captures the viewer’s attention. There is an underlying coolness, chicness or elegance. Adobe Stock Premium provides me with another outlet to allow brands to license my unique imagery in this niche market.”

Terry White, Photographer and Worldwide Adobe Evangelist
“As a photographer ever stream of revenue helps. Contributing to Adobe Stock was a no brainer. Having the ability to submit directly from Adobe Lightroom CC allowed me to submit hundreds of images that I probably otherwise wouldn’t have taken the time to submit manually. I love waking up to “your image sold” emails every day.”

Andrew Scrivani, Food Photographer for the New York Times
“My experience with stock agencies had been defined by the difficulty of getting images through very narrow technical file specifications, regardless of the quality of the image. With Adobe, I shared this concern and they assured me that they were equipped to handle any type of file. This made all the difference for me. Having a great archive is useless unless you can get it seen. Adobe gives me that chance and makes it easy.”

Lasse Behnke aka Lassedesignen, Digital Artist
“Photography and photo editing was one of my longtime hobbies when I started with stock photography. It was just great to make some money on the side with something that you love to do and that you would do anyway in your free time. And even now as I do it full time it never feels like actual work.”

James Cawley, Independent Filmmaker and Cinematographer
“As a filmmaker/cinematographer I would constantly find myself filling up hard drives….and that footage that would sit there doing nothing. Once I started selling this content with Adobe Stock I was able to create an entirely new income stream for my business via stock media sales. You will be surprised how many valuable clips you have sitting on hard drives and how easy it is to incorporate shooting stock into all your productions.”
