Announcing the 2017 Sundance Ignite Short Film Challenge
For the third consecutive year, Sundance Institute and Adobe Project 1324 are teaming up to find the next 15 Sundance Ignite Fellows — emerging filmmakers who are creating stories that bring their passion, voice, and perspective to life.
We’re asking filmmakers to submit a one-to-eight–minute short that shows us “What stories ignite you” and demonstrates the power of film to ignite creativity, passion, and impact.
The yearlong Sundance Ignite Fellowship is open to 18-to-24-year-old emerging documentary and narrative filmmakers. It kicks off with a free trip to the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where fellows will be paired with a Sundance alumni mentor and attend special Ignite events. For the rest of the year, fellows will work with their mentors, attend select Sundance Institute programs, be eligible for internships, and receive additional creative and professional development opportunities as they develop their craft. They will also receive a complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud subscription from Adobe Project 1324.
Submissions will be open August 15 through September 26, 2017. Take the summer to work on your film.
Need some inspiration? Watch the winning films from 2017 and 2016, as well as testimonies from the 2016 fellows. Also, make sure to follow @Project1324 for all challenge updates. We can’t wait to watch your films!
