Our goal with Adobe Document Cloud is to provide people with a modern, efficient way to get work done with documents. Whether you’re a student, small business owner or large enterprise, we want to help you work smarter and faster with intelligent technology on the back-end to make your life a little easier, a little more productive.
Today we introduced a free app on iOS and Android called Adobe Scan. Adobe Scan turns your phone or tablet into a powerful scanning and text recognition tool that converts printed text into digital text that can then be re-used wherever you need it. Whether you’re snapping a picture of a slide during a planning meeting to work into your yearly plan, or grabbing an image of a design board off your camera roll and reworking the copy before sending to your client for approval – Adobe Scan helps you get work done from anywhere.
Adobe Scan represents a radical reimagination of how to capture your most important document content. Adobe invented PDF creation for PCs, and with Adobe Scan we’re doing the same for a mobile-first world. What makes Adobe Scan unique is its integration with Document Cloud, which lets you work across cloud services, mobile and desktop apps. Use Adobe Scan and a free Adobe Document Cloud account to automatically upload, store, share and access your scans from wherever you are. Subscribers to Acrobat DC can also unlock powerful functionality to edit and organize documents, collect signatures and much more.
Like many of the apps and services that are built into Adobe Document Cloud, Adobe Scan is powered by Adobe Sensei, a unified AI and machine learning framework that’s the magic behind the world’s best digital experiences. Adobe Sensei’s advanced image processing techniques like boundary detection, auto-crop and capture, perspective correction and auto-clean remove shadows and enable Adobe Scan to create crystal clear Adobe PDFs.
What will the future bring? When you think of it, documents are the lifeblood of society, communicating data and information that spans contracts, textbooks, financial statements and everything in between. The challenge is unlocking the intelligence that lives in those documents, and extracting meaning that can be searched, analyzed and incorporated into digital workflows. Adobe Scan represents a critical step toward our broader innovation imperative for Adobe Document Cloud, and there’s much more to come.
We hope you’ll check out Adobe Scan and give it a try. We think you’ll like it, and that it’ll help you work smarter and be more productive, no matter where you are.
