The New Adobe Sign: Exceptional Mobile Experiences Meet Rigorous Global Standards
Today is an exciting milestone for the Adobe Document Cloud as we announce the new Adobe Scan app, and new mobile functionality for Adobe Sign, the leading solution that makes it easy to automate document-based processes. Both Adobe Scan and Adobe Sign are key parts of Adobe’s mission to deliver innovations that enable our customers to transform their digital experiences. My colleague, Lisa Croft, shares easy steps to get started with Adobe Scan in her blog, and I’d like to talk to you about some of the industry-first innovations we are bringing to Adobe Sign, as well as new and extended integrations with leading industry applications.
Through our ongoing conversations with customers, we hear about four big pain points for leading brands in their digital transformation journey:
- Automating document processes & gathering insights
- Delivering seamless cross-device experience for engaging with document workflows
- Empowering team members do more with their mobile devices
- Ensuring compliance by meeting the toughest identity verification and regulatory standards
Let me start by highlighting key innovations that we are delivering that will help our customers solve those four pain points:
- Cloud-based digital signatures – Announced in February as a customer preview, Adobe Sign now delivers the world’s first cloud-based digital signatures built on an open standard from the Cloud Signature Consortium. For Adobe Sign customers, this means they are able to collect signatures that comply with the most stringent identity requirements from any browser or on any mobile device.
- Cross-device signature capture – Each of us has a sense of pride and ownership about our signatures, and yet in the digital world, our signatures are machine generated. That ends today! With this release, we are extending signature creation to your mobile device so that you can use your camera or draw your signature and seamlessly sign with it. We have also incorporated some Adobe magic in the process to clean up your signature.
- Customizable email templates – Your organization’s identity is its brand, and we want to ensure that your brand is represented front-and-center in all your customer interactions. Adobe Sign now allows your marketing team to completely personalize interactions with your customers with logos, custom messages, and other creative assets.
- Business stamps – Signature and approval practices vary across industries and regions. Adobe Sign now supports the ability to include business stamps such as a receipt acknowledgement stamp or a company seal. In countries like Japan, the stamp functionality can also be used for personal identifier (ex. Hanko stamp).
- Expanded automation for document processes across teams – Complete end-to-end process automation requires support for different types of roles in the document workflow. With advanced document routing, you can go beyond signing and approvals and include additional types of actions such as accepting a document, filling up forms to gather data or acknowledging receipt of a document – all while maintaining the complete audit record and security.
- Tools to do more with mobile – No digital transformation story would be complete without mobility productivity being a key pillar. The Adobe Scan capability of quickly turning any paper document into a fully searchable PDF and then sending it for e-signing has been integrated into the Adobe Sign mobile app. Additionally tracking widget now allows tracking and managing your document processes quickly and effectively.
Cloud Based Digital Signatures
Like I mentioned earlier, ensuring compliance is a top priority for our customers. The momentum behind the Cloud Signature Consortium is integral to helping them meet the most rigorous, global verification and regulatory standards**.** In February, we unveiled a preview of the first cloud-based signatures built on an open standard. Today we’re announcing full availability by mid-June. The specification has been adopted quickly by a number of global trust service providers with the notable additions of ATOS Worldline, a global leader in e-payment services, GlobalSign, a worldwide provider of certificate-based digital IDs, and Trans Sped, a SAFE Biopharma-certified digital ID provider in Europe, with many more coming on board. The work of this ecosystem of partners will continue to bring the most secure, compliant digital signatures to 7 billion mobile devices and web apps worldwide.
Partners in Accelerating, Simplifying Signatures
Two other customer pain points – doing more with mobile and delivering a seamless, cross-screen experience – drive how we and our partners accelerate and simplify document workflows. Our joint customers rely on Adobe Sign to work where they do, using the systems and processes that they already use today. Adobe already offers integrations with industry leaders including Box, Microsoft, Salesforce and Workday, and customers are reaping the rewards. Today we’re excited to announce new and expanded integrations with the following global partners. All are expected to be available over the coming months.
- Microsoft SharePoint Online – Send agreements, contracts or new hire forms for e-signatures directly from SharePoint Online. Employees, vendors or new hires can sign from any device and track the status of agreements within SharePoint.
- ServiceNow – Accelerate onboarding and improve customer service by adding Adobe Sign to your ServiceNow workflows. Send contracts, agreements, and new hire forms directly from ServiceNow.
- **Apttus for Microsoft Dynamics **– Send contracts and agreements for signature with Adobe Sign from any device within Apttus Contract Lifecycle Management for Microsoft Dynamics.
- **Salesforce for email **– Improve the productivity and efficiency of sales reps. Enable them to use Adobe Sign to send and track e-signatures for Salesforce opportunities within Microsoft Outlook and Gmail.
Here’s what one of our partners has to say about our work together:
“Apttus is looking forward to extending even more value to our customers by connecting our world-class Quote-to-Cash platform to Microsoft Dynamics and Adobe Sign,” said Kirk Krappe, CEO, Apttus. “Our goal is to help companies escape confusing, time-consuming paper-based processes that are typical for contracts and agreements, and focus more on driving revenue. Integrating with Adobe Sign is a critical step to achieving that.”
As you embark on the journey to transform your businesses to provide better experiences for your customers, you can rely on Adobe to be a strong partner. We are committed to solving the most challenging problems be they around mobile productivity or standards compliance or automating processes through continued innovation.
