What’s coming to Premiere Pro CC and Media Encoder CC
It’s that time of year again! We’re thrilled to be revealing what’s coming next to our professional video and audio desktop applications, with new features for Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe Audition CC, Adobe After Effects CC, and Adobe Character Animator CC. All of these new releases will be available to Creative Cloud members later this year. If you’ll be at the upcoming IBC Show in Amsterdam, join us at the Adobe booth (7.G27 in the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center) to see these new features in action.
Collaboration, Powerful Integrated Workflows and Performance Enhancements
Collaboration has been an area of focus for several releases, and we’re happy to announce that Team Projects is officially out of beta. The 1.0 release will add a number of important productivity features, including access to auto-saves and prior versions directly from the menu, and badging for items in each project to keep track of what other users are working on in parallel.
There’s also great news for users who need collaboration focused on workflows between assistant and craft editors: the ability for multiple editors/assistants to access a single project simultaneous with project locking is coming to Premiere Pro. This gives you exclusive access to the project that’s currently open while others have read-only access. We’ve also added the ability to have multiple open projects simultaneously, which allows for copying media and sequences from one project to another.
Earlier this year we introduced Motion Graphics templates, a powerful way for editors to work with and customize dynamic motion graphics within Premiere Pro. Motion Graphics templates allow Premiere Pro users to add beautiful titles, animations and lower thirds to their videos and create custom motion graphics templates which can be shared via Creative Cloud Libraries. The motion graphics workflow is now even faster and is extended to include Responsive Design controls for time and position when designing motion graphics in Premiere Pro. Additional usability improvements to the Essential Graphics panel in Premiere Pro include ability to select multiple elements in the program monitor at once, add rolls, and a redesigned font menu shows previews of fonts and the ability to add favorites for easy access to the fonts you use the most.
With the increased demand to source Motion Graphics templates and getting access to a large range of great looking templates quickly, we’re excited to announce that later this year we’ll have Motion Graphics Templates available from Adobe Stock.
Immersive Video is growing rapidly, and so is our tool set. This time we’re taking it very literally to the next level. The all new Adobe Immersive Environment supports direct timeline review in a head-mount display while controlling playback and navigation. Numerous new effects specific to 360/VR workflows include VR De-Noise, VR Blur and VR Sharpen and are accompanied by immersive transitions like VR Iris Wipe and VR Light Leaks as well as functionality like VR Rotate Sphere to create smooth edits. All of these tools are GPU accelerated and optimized for performance. As immersive audio is becoming a critical part of any VR production, we’ve also expanded the Ambisonics audio support to easily allow for changing the orientation when working on immersive experiences.
Increasing the overall productivity of our users is a huge priority and is reflected in many performance optimizations, while we also have a number of small but powerful changes to the editing workflow. A new command in the Sequence menu allows for closing all gaps in a sequence or selected range and 8 new label colours increase the set to 16 in total, making it easier to manage complex projects.
Media Encoder adds notifications for missing media, fonts or plugins. The presets for social destinations have seen a number of significant improvements, including channel selection for YouTube and page selection for Facebook.
