Adweek and Business Insider Name Ann Lewnes to Their Top Marketers Lists for 2017
We’re thrilled to share our CMO Ann Lewnes has just been named one of the Adweek 50, a list of top media, marketing, and tech execs, and one of Business Insider’s 50 Most Innovative CMOs in the World. All this comes on top of a busy year helping lead the rollout of our new Experience Cloud and overseeing all of Adobe’s digital marketing campaigns.
The Adweek 50
The Adweek 50 is the publication’s annual “celebration of the most indispensible executives across marketing, media, and technology.” This year, the list focused on pioneers in cutting-edge technology, from machine learning to big data. Adweek called out Ann’s work on the launch of Experience Cloud, including its playful, smart ad campaign.
When Ann talked to Adweek, she shared insights on how to embrace new technology without forgetting the fundamentals: “As the marketing landscape becomes increasingly dynamic with the explosion of new technologies, media formats, and screens, don’t lose sight of the heart of marketing…A great brand with a purpose, combined with powerful storytelling, stunning creative, and a vibrant, engaged base of customers is your biggest asset in the long run.”
Business Insider’s 50 Most Innovative CMOs in the World
According to Business Insider, their annual list of the 50 Most Innovative CMOs recognizes people who are guiding brands through “the most disruptive period in marketing history.” Ann came in third overall on the list, with special recognition for her role as a Connector—Business Insider’s designation for marketing executives who mix art, science, and technology in their campaigns.
The Business Insider list is determined by the magazine’s advertising and media editors, along with a council of industry leaders. It’s Ann’s second year on the list, and a jump from her number-eight position in 2016.
