Don’t Dead-End Your PDF File: Recycle it Back to Office

New year, new project. Starting the new year with new business projects and goals is exciting. Unfortunately, that feeling ebbs when new projects are accompanied by old, outdated PDF files that need reworking. Luckily PDF files aren’t a dead-end, they can be transformed into fully-formatted, editable Microsoft Office documents. What’s more, you can use a browser or mobile device to create Office files that are easy to update and revise — saving valuable time on your new project. Let’s take a look at how it’s done with Acrobat DC.

Export a PDF file in the Acrobat Reader Mobile App

  1. Open your file in the Acrobat Reader mobile app.
  2. Tap the tool icon in the upper left of any view.
  3. Tap Export PDF.
  4. Select your Office format. If your PDF contains scanned text, text recognition will run automatically.
  5. Tap EXPORT PDF. The status of the converted file can be found in the Outbox.

Export a PDF file in Acrobat

  1. Open your file in Acrobat.
  2. Click on the Export PDF tool in the right-hand pane.
  3. Select your Office format.
  4. Click Export. If your PDF contains scanned text, Acrobat runs text recognition automatically.
  5. Name the file and save it in a desired location.

Export a PDF file in your browser

  1. Log in to Adobe Document Cloud (documents.adobe.com).
  2. Select Export PDF.
  3. Click the blue Select PDF Files to Export
  4. Select a file to export.
  5. Choose your Office format from the Convert To
  6. Click the blue Export If your PDF contains scanned text, text recognition will run automatically.
  7. Click on the thumbnail of your file to preview or download.
