Adobe Customers Take the Stage at NAB 2018

NAB 2018 promises to be another amazing conference for media and entertainment professionals. For Adobe, it is a chance to let Adobe customers shine, as they share their experiences working with Adobe Creative Cloud professional video tools on projects including feature films, television series, and live animated productions, as well as corporate video projects, audio podcasts, visual effects, and stock video content.
Bernie Laramie & Mike Hugo, The Florida Project – Fans of The Florida Project may be surprised to learn that it wasn’t edited in a traditional post-production studio like most Hollywood films. Bernie Laramie, the film’s post supervisor, and Mike Hugo, assistant editor, will talk about how they took an unconventional approach to post production, working with Writer, Director, and Editor Sean Baker to cut the film using only laptop computers and Adobe Premiere Pro. Their presentations are Monday, April 9th at 4:00 PM and Tuesday, April 10th at 5:00 PM.
Bernie & Mike will also be participating in the NAB 2018 panel “Feature vs. Series: Challenges, Opportunities & Deadlines” on Monday, April 9th at 11:45 AM at the Post|Production Campus SL13911DN.
Tyler Nelson & Billy Peake, MINDHUNTER – Tyler Nelson and Billy Peake will describe how they cut the dailies for MINDHUNTER using both Adobe software and the PIX System as part of their workflow. They will work head to head, with one of them showing their high-power approach and the other the manual approach to demonstrate the difference automation can make to a workflow. Their presentation is Monday, April 9th at 3:00 PM.
Tyler and Billy will also be participating in the NAB 2018 panel “Feature vs. Series: Challenges, Opportunities & Deadlines” on Monday, April 9th at 11:45 AM at the Post|Production Campus SL13911DN.
Andrew Kramer, Video Copilot – Don’t miss joining Andrew Kramer, president of Video Copilot, as he shares his latest tips for creating visual effects that steal the show. Andrew will talk about how he uses Adobe After Effects to produce high-end FX in a fraction of the time, and how to maintain project consistency when you’re working with a team of artists. His presentations are Monday, April 9th at 2:00 PM and Tuesday, April 10th at 2:00 PM.
Valentina Vee – After deciding corporate life wasn’t for her, Valentina Vee became a freelance digital content director and hasn’t looked back. Join her as she talks about balancing commercial work with passion projects and producing video content for a variety of platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro. Her presentations are Monday, April 9th at 1:00 PM and Tuesday, April 10th at 10:30 AM.
Valentina will also be participating in the Adobe live stream roundtable “Live Stream: Getting Seen Above the Noise: The Impact of Video on Social Media” on Sunday, April 8th at 4:00 PM and in the NAB 2018 panel “#GalsNGear – Science of Sizzle: Social Video, Promos and Sizzle Reels” on Tuesday, April 10th at 2:45 PM at the Post|Production Campus SL13911DN.
James Safechuck & JB Fondren, AvatarLabs – Join James Safechuck and JB Fondren as they talk about how AvatarLabs helped garner significant buzz ahead of the release of My Little Pony: The Movie. Learn how they combined the Facebook Live platform with live animation achieved with Adobe Character Animator, to successfully help Hasbro and Lionsgate engage fans and build excitement for the film. Their presentations are Tuesday, April 10th at 3:00 PM and Wednesday, April 11th at 3:00 PM.
Daniel Højlund, Territory Studio – Daniel Højlund shares Territory’s approach to creating original technology systems and interfaces for the critically acclaimed Blade Runner 2049. Drawing on the team’s unique R&D and experimental process, he will demonstrate the toolset that brought the highly original interface designs to life. His presentations are Wednesday, April 11th at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
Emma Houlton, Art of Podcast – Emma Houlton, founder of Art of Podcast, knows a thing or two about great audio. Tune in to hear her tips for creating great audio podcasts and Amazon Alexa content using Adobe Audition CC, and learn why it is so important to create a narrative that is clear and guides the listener. Her presentations are Tuesday, April 10th at 12:00 PM and Wednesday, April 11th at 1:00 PM.
Emma will also be participating in the Adobe live stream roundtable “Podcasting and the Future of Audio Storytelling” on Tuesday, April 10th at 4:00 PM.
Rick Ray, DVarchive.com – Rick Ray is full of great stories he’s collected through his years of traveling the world as a photographer and filmmaker. Watch his presentation to hear how he decides where to go, what to shoot, and most importantly how to make a living producing stock video and imagery for services including Adobe Stock. His presentations are Monday, April 9th at 10:30 AM and Tuesday, April 10th at 1:00 PM.
Rick will also be participating in the Adobe live stream roundtable “Live Stream: Getting Seen Above the Noise: The Impact of Video on Social Media” on Sunday, April 8th at 4:00 PM.
