How Big Are Your Creative Dreams?

The 2018 ADAA can make them come true.

It’s time for the 2018 ADAA. Art by 2017 Finalist Mariska Hagendijk, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam.

Welcome to the premier digital media competition for student creators: the 2018 Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA).

Coming off two consecutive years of record-setting entry numbers, the ADAA has just opened its 18th submission season, and whether you’re a creative student, an industry pro, or a seasoned instructor, now is the time to train your eye on the global talent competing for this year’s top prizes.

Connected to industry pros, academic leaders, and top brands, the mission of the ADAA is to launch student careers. The competition annually gives birth to an incoming class of creative leaders spread across a wide array of disciplines represented in the contest’s 14 comprehensive categories – from Commercial Graphic Design to Social Impact Photography. ADAA competitors at all levels earn international exposure, professional mentorship opportunities, and vie for a shot at an unforgettable VIP winners’ experience: to be held this year in Los Angeles at Adobe MAX 2018 with 10,000+ creative professionals from around the globe (you can read more about competition prizes and benefits here).

Rising motion graphics star Luke Guyer is a back-to-back ADAA category winner for 2016-2017. He says about the program, “This competition is such a great way to bring young, talented, passionate artists together to simply communicate and connect with each other. Making lasting and honest connections like the ones I’ve made is really something truly special.”

On the other side of the table, Mashama Thompson, founder and creative director of 510Media and member of last year’s final judging panel, says the ADAA is a way for creative professionals to “see what the next generation of designers and artists are creating: to see their approaches and thoughts in this rapidly changing world.”

The 2018 contest will once again be teeming with inspirational student stories, creative achievements, career lessons, and standout work in all categories — from Fine Art Illustration to Commercial Photography, to Animation/Motion Graphics, Packaging Design, and more. Follow the action in the live feed — every entry, in real time — and help cheer talented entrants to the finish line. Creative students who want to go for it and launch their careers can enter their best work from now until June 4 (with a special Early Bird deadline April 24) using the ADAA submission tool, powered by Behance.

Whether your career has already launched or you’re just getting started, follow the ADAA on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to join the conversation and see what the next class of creative professionals is bringing to the table.

“You get to see the incredible talent from around the world, how cultures shape ideas, and how varying different points of view are from the next generation of designers.”
