Introducing the April Release of Capture CC

There’s nothing like a collection of new features to jump-start your creativity on the go.

It’s that time of year again. Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining more (hopefully), and we’re all itching to be outside more and enjoy the day. Here at Adobe, we’re also a little obsessed with spring, but for a different reason. The Capture CC team has been hard at work these last few months. We’re excited to announce this group of updates that support your favorite mobile-to-desktop creative workflows.

Reuse and recycle your assets

Gone are the days of needing to export and import your assets to reuse them. Now, with a simple drop-down menu, you can turn your shape into a pattern, your color theme into a brush into a material, and more, all right inside the app.

See materials in more dimension

When capturing a material, you’ll see a 3D model appear to show in real time how your texture looks on an object. And now you can preview your material on other objects like a cylinder, flat surface, and even a paper bag. Rotate, refine, and crop to get the perfect material for your work in Adobe Dimension.

Get your pattern tiles in vector form

Designers rejoice – now you can transform your world into infinitely scalable vector pattern tiles. Simply tap on “Open In…” from Capture when you create your vector pattern, and watch the tile appear in Illustrator or Photoshop. Use this to create work as big as a billboard, textiles, wallpapers — you name it. Plus, you can change your pattern colors for even more customization.

Access your Lightroom photos

In addition to Adobe Stock, your camera roll, and Creative Cloud files, now you can access all your amazing photos from your Lightroom account to transform into Capture assets.

Edit your shapes to (even more) perfection

We know how easy it is to get caught up in the details. That’s why we’ve made it easier for you to get your shapes just right. Now you can edit your eraser size while cleaning up your shape, and long-press to more accurately delete whole parts of it to save you time.

Enable touchpoints for easier presentations*

Do you like making tutorials or showing how to use Capture in a presentation setting? We’ve just made it easier for you. Turn on touchpoints in settings to enable visual cues for all your finger taps while in the app.

Export all your assets

You and all your friends can now export all of your assets in every file format available. Now you can export shapes to svg, pdf, or jpg. Color themes can be exported to ase, color values, or jpg; patterns to bitmap/svg, materials to pbr, brushes to jpg, and type to jpg. Start creating, then get sharing.
