Functions of Creative Cloud Libraries
Here are some easy ways to use Creative Cloud Libraries.
- Collect creative assets from various Creative Cloud desktop and mobile apps. Capture inspiration whenever it strikes — whether you’re working in-app at your desk, spotting an image or color or texture on-the-go, or browsing ready-to-use assets from Adobe Stock.
- Organize creative assets into multiple Creative Cloud Libraries by brand, project, or other classification. Manage them from wherever you’re working, even offline in your Creative Cloud desktop apps.
- Use and share CC Libraries to collaborate with team members or inform stakeholders. Whether you want to share a library privately with a project member or publicly with an external partner, make sure the most up-to-date assets inform all their designs across formats and channels.
There are two ways to share a library: by inviting individual collaborators (the Collaborate path) and by generating a link (the Send Link path). Choose Collaborate when you want to share libraries that contain private creative assets, such as campaign or product design assets that should not be released to the public yet. You can allow recipients to add or modify assets in the library.

Alternatively, choose Send Link if you want to share the library with a large number of people without allowing them to modify it.

Many large companies across a variety of industries are already using CC Libraries to design branded marketing campaigns. They create style guides for company-wide branding, or a seasonal retail campaign, and share them across multiple teams. CC Libraries are also used on a shorter-term basis for collaborating on a project, where a smaller group of people can easily share and edit work in progress. In addition, many creatives keep their own private libraries as a way of collecting inspirational or frequently used assets. Pfeiffer Consulting conducted a research study comparing workflows with and without CC Libraries, and found close to 10-times productivity gains on average. Sharing and making one update of color settings, one set of graphics, and one image asset took almost 20 minutes to complete using common workflow methods — but just over three minutes with CC Libraries. This goes to show that cumulative, small productivity gains in repetitive operations can add up significantly and can save you and your team hours in the course of a week.
With every update to CC Libraries, we’re looking for ways to further increase your productivity. For example, you can now drag and drop files in bulk from your local file system into a library in most Creative Cloud apps. Also, if somebody shares a character style with you and you don’t have the font on your computer, you can now download it from Adobe Typekit with a single click.
