Graphic Design USA Offers Free Subscription to Adobe MAX Attendees
MAX is the conference creative professionals need.
The idea behind GDUSA is simple and straightforward, and has not fundamentally changed since its founding as Graphic Design USA 55 years ago. We gather news, ideas, information, trends, products, and services for and about professional graphic design, and present it in a way that is accessible, useful, inclusive, and helps build and celebrate the creative community.
Naturally enough, we began as a business-to-business print magazine back in 1963, and the print edition continues on as a substantial six-times-a-year publication. But, obviously, times have changed and we now engage our audience with a multi-channel brand: the print edition, yes, but also a digital edition; a redesigned and responsive website; two monthly e-newsletters and custom e-blasts; several national design competitions ranging from graphics, to interactive, to in-house, to package design; a consistent connection in social media; and a soon-to-be-launched podcast series.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. We still approach each day with the founding mission in mind β to create a sense of community for creative professionals and businesses while helping them be more successful and productive. For this reason, we were immediately attracted to the Adobe MAX Conference, understand it as kindred spirit, and respect it for what is building and has already built in a few short years.
First of all, Adobe MAX β appropriately dubbed The Creativity Conference β has proven itself to be a community builder. Itβs a face-to-face gathering of some 12,000 graphic, web, and multidisciplinary designers; creative and art directors; film, video, and motion graphics pros; photographers and illustrators; and all-around creative leaders. The specific professional roles may differ in detail, but Adobe MAX unites them as a shared community of creators.
Second, Adobe MAX is about inspiration. Attendees consistently tell me that they come away from the conference inspired to pursue innovative projects, energized to experiment and achieve new goals, and personally rejuvenated by hearing from their design heroes, by sharing ideas and challenges with fellow creators, and by seeing and dreaming about what is possible.
Third, Adobe MAX provides practical information and education with the goal of being more productive. The agenda has hundreds of hands-on training sessions and labs by top experts; access to cutting-edge trends, tools, products, and services; and a fount of techniques, tips, and tricks to try and master.
Finally, Adobe MAX celebrates and respects creative people and the creative life, provides a chance to network, party, play, and share in the special energy that comes from being with others who understand your challenges and your aspirations.
So here is an event that builds community, sparks inspiration, provides information, and encourages recognition. This is the event we would stage if we had the imagination, the expertise, and the resources that the Adobe MAX brings to the table.
GDUSA is contributing to this endeavor by offering attendees of Adobe MAX a free subscription to GDUSA print magazine (six issues) as well as our twice-a-month design industry e-newsletter (12 e-newsletters).
