Adobe and Government Leaders Outline Future of Digital Government Experiences

Leaders from across the federal government as well as numerous state and local agencies attended the 9th Annual Digital Government Symposium earlier this year at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center where they shared best practices for accelerating citizen-centric services and improving digital experiences.

At the conference, Adobe Executive Vice President Matt Thompson announced the company’s participation as the first vendor in the new Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Tailored program with the General Services Administration (GSA). The FedRAMP Tailored program makes it easier for government agencies to quickly adopt new cloud services that improve digital experiences, such as building more engaging and mobile friendly websites, signing forms electronically, and applying security to information across their networks. Adobe Creative Cloud for enterprise and Adobe Document Cloud services are now available to government agencies as part of the FedRAMP Tailored program.

With IT modernization at the forefront of government transformation efforts, now is the time for government agencies to reimagine citizen and employee experiences. Agencies have a unique opportunity to drive efficiency and establish greater citizen and employee trust through mobile-friendly, personalized, and secure digital experiences. Forrester Principal Analyst Rick Parrish spoke about this phenomenon as well as the perils and payoffs of retiring legacy IT, sharing best practices for a successful transformation.

Some of the other key speakers included Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) who highlighted how government can accelerate IT modernization and explained how the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (IDEA), which he recently introduced, will lower federal costs and increase efficiency by digitizing government processes and establishing minimum standards for federal websites, including mobile-friendly interfaces in compliance with the latest security protocols. Federal CIO Suzette Kent outlined President Donald Trump’s management agenda and how she is working to attract the next generation of government IT leaders. In addition, Donald Bice, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration at the Department of Agriculture (USDA), showcased how IT modernization at the USDA has helped to usher in a new era of citizen engagement with farmers and local government leaders.

Attendees learned how compelling digital experiences in government help drive efficiency and exceed citizen and employee expectations. They also learned how exceptional customer experience (CX) requires executive support and attention to citizen-centric engagement, and how CX and design are central to successful digital transformation.
