Adobe Simplifies Content Management for IT Professionals

Businesses have tasked CIOs and IT organizations to look beyond the infrastructure decisions and solve the connected \customer experience problem – across every channel. For businesses to succeed, it’s critical that connected experiences are intelligent and delight the customers at every moment. This requires IT professionals to leverage the disparate data systems and collaborate closely with marketing organizations to create, manage, and personalize consistent and connected experiences.

Content management plays a key role in connecting customer experiences. As IT professionals invest in and builds cutting edge technologies to deliver engaging app-like experiences across every channel, it’s essential to collaborate with marketing and content authors to be transformative, enable scale and maximize customer engagement. To help IT professionals gain flexibility, scalability and speed, today we are introducing new capabilities in Adobe Experience Manager, part of Adobe Experience Cloud.

Managing experience with agility

With the adoption of Single Page Application (SPA) JavaScript frameworks for front-end development to deliver experiences, web content is becoming more fluid and responsive, giving front-end developers greater control of the delivered experience. However, changing and updating assets and experiences within an SPA isn’t easy. Traditionally, the available tools have limitations for in-context experience previews and their ability to collaborate and integrate with tools used by marketing teams.

To address this, Adobe is rolling out its industry-first SPA Editor that allows front-end developers and experience authors to preview an SPA, view the JavaScript and edit content including images, video and text. With this new capability, SPA content can be edited and managed in-context, allowing marketing teams to preview content easily and reduce time spent editing content. Developers can continue to use their front-end development environment and bring SPAs into Experience Manager. This gives developers freedom and flexibility to create engaging experiences while broadening the content creation and management responsibilities. The result is faster collaboration with front-end developer counterparts and developers can leverage the tools they’re familiar with flexibility to co-manage all or parts of an SPA with marketing.

The SPA Editor in Experience Manager supports the React and Angular framework, with plans to extend to other SPA frameworks in the future. SPA Editor is now generally available.

Strengthening computing

In today’s DevOps environment, flexibility and agility are critical to keep organizations running. Improving the time to market and streamlining operations is especially important for organizations to quickly make user experience updates and handle unpredictable user traffic on customers’ web and mobile delivery channels.

Cloud Manager, a feature for Experience Manager, provides agility and flexibility to DevOps by easily managing Experience Manager cloud environments from a user-friendly dashboard. This cloud service includes Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) capabilities to streamline code deployment across staging and production environments, along with code inspection, security validation and performance testing features. These capabilities improve DevOps efficiency, as code can be deployed on-demand or on a schedule, while ensuring quality standards are met. Developers can now customize their CI/CD pipeline against KPIs to ensure their organization’s business needs.

As business demands and peak capacity fluctuate, new autoscaling capabilities in Cloud Manager add seamlessly add computing resources. A health check system monitors application performance to detect if new compute resources are necessary and automatically adding the resources accordingly. This accommodates the increase in traffic without degradation. These capabilities are now available, and we’ll continue to introduce new cloud service features through Cloud Manager each month.

Automating asset delivery speeds

Automation is improving efficiency and productivity across functions, and IT is no exception. With Experience Manager’s intelligent Dynamic Media capabilities, tasks are automated in bulk to deliver experiences faster.

Within Dynamic Media, our new Smart Imaging functionality automatically detects the type of device and available bandwidth and minimizes images’ file size accordingly. This ensures smooth and quick loading without loss of visual fidelity, making it easier for IT teams responsible for optimizing asset delivery speeds and implementing responsive behavior accordingly. Smart Imaging is generally available.
