Clemson University Uses Adobe Sign to Connect Select Fans with Cotton Bowl Tickets

On December 29, 2018, Clemson University football fans worldwide will be tuning in to watch their team take on Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. The Clemson Tigers have been a staple of the college bowl season for decades. With 42 bowl appearances and 22 victories, the Clemson Tigers are ranked 17th all-time among college football programs. For Clemson Tiger fans, bowl season is the time to put on an orange Tiger Paw and cheer the team to victory.

Everyone wants to be there when the Tigers take the field for a big game. For bowl games, attendees who travel or stay with the team – including parents, alumni, and staff – can request tickets through the Athletics Department. The Athletics Department recognizes the huge impact that these enthusiastic Tigers fans have on team performance, and they want to process all of the ticket requests as quickly as possible. As a result, administrators might spend hours sifting through ticket request forms, leaving them little time for their regular duties.

The process wasn’t better for the fans either. Submitting ticket request forms required them to fill out the request form, print it, and then scan, mail, or hand-deliver the form to administrators. The Athletics Department decided to make the digital switch and give these attendees a way to apply for tickets online, even over mobile phone.

Working with an electronic form is a huge time save, enabling these individuals to submit a form in minutes. And it’s an even bigger time-saver for administrators. While processing bowl attendance forms used to take an average of 25 hours, that time has been reduced to 5 hours. Administrators now have more time to help the team, as well as staff, trustees, boosters, family, and friends, have a fantastic bowl experience.

Adobe Document Cloud is key to the fast, streamlined electronic workflow. Administrators create PDF forms using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and can then send out the forms with just a few clicks using Adobe Sign, the electronic signature solution within Adobe Document Cloud.

Eric George, Associate Athletic Director and CFO for the Clemson University Athletics Department, loves how the new Adobe Sign workflow improves experiences for both administrators and fans. He says, “The efficiencies of Adobe Sign let us put more focus on our sports events, rather than the processes behind them, creating a richer, more memorable experience for the Clemson Family.”
