Toccara Baker and Growing her Career in all Directions
When Toccara Baker joined TubeMogul in 2014, she didn’t know she would one day be working for Adobe, too. In December 2016, Adobe completed its acquisition of TubeMogul, creating the first end-to-end independent advertising and data management solution that spans traditional TV and digital formats.
Toccara remembers the moment as being one of uncertainty and excitement, “We were going from a 900-person company to a 16,000-person company at the time. That in of itself is a big shock. But the experience was really great. Although there were some unknowns, we got a lot of our questions answered and I appreciated that.”
In Toccara’s role as a regional product marketing manager in our London office, she works closely with Adobe’s Advertising Cloud EMEA Managing Director to help unlock opportunity in Europe and accelerate growth in the product. That means educating the European market on how they can gain value with Adobe’s Advertising Cloud. “A big part of my job is analyzing and reporting the trends in the EU, and looking at how that translates into our products. A good example is about education around GDPR.”
When Toccara isn’t traveling all around Europe and presenting at different industry events, she’s also an active member of Adobe UK’s Black Employee Network. “Being part of this network is so important for me and is one of my main priorities. It’s good to build relationships with people that look like you and talk to them about your experiences. For Ad Cloud in EMEA I help with planning some of our major European events and thinking about how we can leverage the Adobe brand and drive diverse leadership within the London industry. Adobe puts a lot of emphasis diversity & inclusion, and I love that” says Toccara.
On top of making an impact in her work and focusing on diversity and inclusion, Toccara has also been able to profoundly develop her career at Adobe, too. Toccara just finished participating in Adobe’s Leadership Circles, a program focused on developing women leaders. “It’s an amazing program and was a great experience for me. I came at a good time, because I had just started a new role and was having questions about my career. I wouldn’t be as confident in this new year if it weren’t for Leadership Circles. I’m amazed by the level of investment Adobe has put into it and level of time from the leadership staff. It’s invaluable and it really showcased to me how Adobe is committed to building women leaders.”
