We shared the 2019 Experience Optimization Payoff infographic with many of you at the 2019 Adobe Summit in Las Vegas. This infographic gives a visual view of our customers’ successes over the last year, and highlights the significant role that Adobe Target played in them. We derived the statistics in the infographic from aggregated usage data of our customers that they’ve permitted us to use.

The 2019 Experience Optimization Payoff infographic.

This is actually the third year we’ve produced the payoff infographic. We kicked off the first one in 2016 thinking that by annually tracking the many successes our customers were experiencing, we could measure their progress — something that makes our work on the Target team incredibly rewarding and that we hoped would also give our customers a sense of accomplishment.

I’ve been fortunate to work with a group of extremely bright people on all three payoff infographics, all of whom take great pride in creating this piece and get excited about sharing it with you each year. I thought you might find it interesting to learn about all that goes into producing each infographic.

A visual showcase of the value Adobe Target delivers

Each infographic includes statistics that showcase the ability of Adobe Target to scale to meet the needs of our customers, demonstrate the impact that Target drives year over year on their business, and surface industry trends we observe. Every year, we also add new data points based on shifts in the digital marketing landscape or things that stood out as significant through our data analysis. For example, this year we highlighted customer engagement with Adobe Target during the 2018 holiday season and throughout 2018 in its entirety. At the bottom of the infographic you see that Adobe Target handled 5 billion server requests on Black Friday last year, up 28% from 2017. Statistics like these speak to the performance and scalability of Adobe Target, validating the ability of our global edge network to successfully meet the demands of our many multinational enterprise companies that serve visitors from around the world.

As a data-driven business, these statistics inform and guide our decisions

Adobe Target is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, which provides us visibility into customer performance through our usage data. We can track in aggregate how many campaigns and service requests our customers created and measure the impact of their campaigns. By closely monitoring these statistics, we are able to set a course for evolving the solution in ways that optimally meet the needs of our customers. It’s also shown by the fact that 64 of the Fortune 100 companies trust Adobe Target to deliver optimized and personalized experiences to the billions of visitors to the digital properties of these popular brands.

Customer satisfaction is always our top priority — it drives us in our mission to deliver the best experience optimization platform available. To do this, we make improvements to Adobe Target by listening to the feedback that our customers share with us and collecting large amounts of qualitative data. The statistics in the infographic give us yet another way to quantify and evaluate our performance. If you aren’t an Adobe Target customer, we want you to see the successes you could be experiencing with this industry-leading solution.

Highlights of the 2019 Experience Optimization Payoff infographic

Although customers from all industries use Adobe Target, for the infographic we focus on the following four key industries: retail, travel and hospitality, media and entertainment, and financial services. These industries tend to be highly active in optimizing their customer experiences.

For retail users of Adobe Target, you see that every 2018 statistic was a historical high. To us, that indicates our retail customers are expanding their programs — on average, they’re running 10 experience optimization activities per month. We are thrilled to support them as they optimize more and grow their programs.

Retail is just one example, though. We’ve observed growth in each key industry — 2018 was a record year. That motivates all of us on the Adobe Target team to keep improving our solution so that it can support all the ways our customers want to use it.
