Steven Nie and Making Use of All his Skills
Steven Nie studied mechanical design and manufacturing in university, but the last 20 years have exposed him to lots of fields. His career started with Software Engineering, then he worked as a Global Business Systems Analyst, he later landed at Adobe as a Program Manager and later an Engineering Manager. Today, he’s the Head of Solutions Consulting for Greater China, based in our Adobe Beijing office.
“Engineers in research and development deal with programing every day – they aim to develop the best product in the world, but they can be far from the voice of customers” Steven says. “I told my colleagues that I wanted to change jobs and be a consultant so I could use my knowledge and experience to help improve our clients’ customer experience by leveraging our technology.”
As the Head of Solution Consulting, Steven works with sales peers to identify, qualify, and close opportunities. And he and his team work with various teams like the Digital Strategy Group, Professional Services, and other Adobe Partners to define the right vision, solutions and roadmap for customers.
Most of Steven’s customers are in China’s booming E-commerce, retail, consumer packaged goods and high tech industries. Steven says the ability to help companies differentiate themselves in a highly competitive market makes his job an ideal match for his personality, skills, and values.
“I just enjoy making a difference,” Steven says. “People always think about the meaning of life or career, but I think if we can combine them together, that’s even more meaningful. When I’m doing my job well, I can make a very positive impact, not only to my company but also to my clients.”
