Adobe Grinds into High Gear with Vans Park Series

Skateboarding was born out of creativity. From the moves themselves, to the surrounding art, fashion, music, and lifestyle, skateboard culture is defined by its ever-evolving nature and by those who push it to the next level. Skaters are some of the world’s biggest influencers. Their constant search to reach new heights drives creativity and innovation every day, which is why we’re excited to collaborate with Vans Park Series (VPS) to empower and inspire the community to up their creative game.

Videography has been synonymous with skateboard culture since the days of Bones Brigade. What began as a way to capture new tricks and never before seen maneuvers on VHS soon gave way to the rise of digital video, but the spirit of creativity, scrappiness, and originality remained. And now, with the ubiquity of mobile phones and cameras that fit in your back pocket, capturing video in the social media age has skyrocketed skateboarding into global popularity and content creators are getting craftier than ever before.

The premier park terrain skateboarding World Championships in Salt Lake City this Sept 6-7 will feature stunning videos created by Life Without Andy, the Vans Park Series’ official filmmaker, to give fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at the series. Using Premiere Rush, an all-in-one, cross-device video editing app,, their creative team came together to shoot up-close and personal vignettes with the VPS pros, offering BTS glimpses that broadcast doesn’t and bringing the audience directly into moments that are typically only experienced live.

The team at Life Without Andy have been making videos and using Creative Cloud for a while. “When we’re capturing and creating content, we’re always looking for ways to push the boundaries – to be faster, more creative, and to stay ahead of the curve,” said Mitchell Tomlinson from Life Without Andy. “Whether you’re an aspiring skateboarder trying to capture your next trick, taking your brand to the next level on social video, or an action sports filmmaker, capturing content on the fly is an important aspect for skate videos.”

Keep an eye out for more throughout the finals on September 6–7 across @vansparkseries and @adobevideo social channels. Be sure to download Premiere Rush, and share your videos during the competition for a chance to get some cool surprises. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to add #MadeWithRush so we can find you.
