Adobe Improving Airport Experience During Holidays
New traveler information kiosks at Chicago O’Hare Airport.
Holiday travel can be stressful for a variety of reasons. To help improve the airport experience for travelers, Adobe deployed new digital information kiosks in Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Terminal 1 earlier this week. These interactive screens provide current wait times for the three security checkpoints, information on passenger screening procedures, details on available traveler programs, and new identification requirements effective in 2020.
Adobe worked with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Sony Electronics, and Peerless-AV on the integrated digital experience that utilizes Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and Adobe Analytics delivered as cloud services to the new airport displays.
The on-screen graphic design and layout utilizes Adobe’s creative tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, XD, and Animate. Those assets are managed across organizations using the digital asset management system in AEM Assets, and are delivered to each of the kiosk screens using the digital signage module, AEM Screens. Adobe Analytics is used to optimize and measure the engagement and popularity of the digital content being shown. The content on the screen can be remotely updated within seconds, and each kiosk can display a distinct content playlist based on its location in the airport.
In addition to the approximate wait time information and rotating carousel of content, the interactive kiosks have touch screens allowing travelers to browse
The digital signage kiosks only require a single AC power cable and receive instant content updates from Adobe’s cloud services utilizing a cellular broadband connection, which provides for portability in the airport and no dependence on airport IT resources.
If you are in the Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Terminal 1 this holiday season or through February 2020, check them out and please let us know your thoughts and any suggestions.
Happy holidays and cheers to better traveler experiences!
