RoboHelp 2019 – Update 11 (February 2020)

About only two months ago, we released Update 10 of Adobe RoboHelp 2019. And just a few days ago, we have released Update 11. And this one is all about the inner beauty! So, no fancy new features this time – just stability improvements, bug hunting, making things smoother. This includes fixes in areas around authoring, import of Microsoft Word Documents, and publishing output to PDF, Word, and Responsive HTML5.

Short list of heroic bug fixes

Here are some (only some!) of the bug fixes that are part of Update 11:

  1. [Authoring] Sometimes, you might have run into some issues with Undo/Redo. We looked deeper into this issue – and fixed it!
  2. [Authoring] You had this wonderful idea of embedding a video into a drop-down text? Worked fine? It did – until you switched forth and back between Source View and Author View. That could break the source code. Fixed.
  3. [Import] You imported a Microsoft Word Document. Some words in a paragraph were marked up in a different language than the language defined in the paragraph style. Now, that worked fine for RoboHelp, and the @lang attribute in the <span> element was coming for all languages. Except for en-US. Fixed that one as well.
  4. [Output] Like the new “Frameless” Responsive HTML5 output? We, too. But there was that nasty UX bug, that expanding a thumbnail image hid the close button for the expanded image fully or partially behind the header or bookmark bar. Of course, we have fixed that.
  5. [Output] When publishing to a Microsoft Word document, the HTML elements <sub> (subscript) and <sup> (superscript) were not handled correctly. Update 11 fixes that, and now you can also export O2 can 12 to DOCX properly.
  6. [Output] In the HTML5 output, when you search something with the integrated search engine, the search string was not automatically removed from the URL when clearing the search results. Clearing the search results works like a charm now. As it should.
  7. [Output] The image size changed in a published Microsoft Word document if the image resolution was not 96 DPI. That is smoothed out now, and RoboHelp handels image dpi correctly now.
  8. [Output] For published output, some reference file paths remain in “Sentence case” despite selecting “use lower case file names”
  9. [Output] Several fixes for the new “Frameless” Responsive HTML5 output – especially around searching in merged projects.
  10. For some people, authentication with Microsoft SharePoint did not work with specific versions of SharePoint. This works smoothly and stable now.
