The small business community has an incredible way of selflessly supporting each other by offering advice and guidance, particularly in times of need. We know there’s an exhaustive number of podcasts out there, but we’ve compiled a few that focus specifically on small business. While hosts may crack jokes with one another to lighten the mood, they touch on important topics and hold difficult discussions, like the most recent Being Boss episode. Sometimes it helps to remember that there’s an amazing community of entrepreneurs out there, just like you.

Being Boss

Being Boss is a podcast for creative hustlers who are running their first business, juggling freelancer projects and exploring their passions. This podcast is all about “owning who you are, knowing what you want, and actually making it happen.”

Hosts, Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon know what it’s like to become your own boss. Both are business owners who started their podcast in 2015 to talk shop and share their own expertise, and the experiences of other creative entrepreneurs.

Breaking Down Your Business

This podcast takes a friendly, conversational approach to business and addresses hot topics and key issues that are on small business owners’ minds. While hosts Brad Farris and Jill Salzman exchange fun banter with one another, each episode hits on issues that are top of mind for entrepreneurs, such as pricing for services, understanding and improving the customer journey, and how to make people care about your business.

Hack the Entrepreneur

To be an entrepreneur, you need a certain spirit and mindset. Host Jon Nastor explores the challenges and behaviors of small business owners to help entrepreneurs find success. Each episode discusses challenges and lessons that other entrepreneurs have experienced first-hand.

Hack to Start

In their own words, the hosts of Hack to Start, Franco Varriano and Tyler Copeland, describe their podcast as “focused on interesting people and the innovative ways they achieve success.” Being passionate entrepreneurs themselves, Franco and Tyler understand that the road to small business is not one size fits all. The hosts structure the podcast as a place to celebrate the missteps new business owners often take and share personal stories of perseverance. In this podcast, you will hear from real people about their small businesses and the journeys they’ve taken.

Indie Hackers

If you’re looking to hear directly from other SMB owners, then look no further than the Indie Hackers podcast. Not only does the cast features unfiltered conversations from founders of online companies, but it also strives to build a community amongst is listeners. Indie Hackers offers a place for business owners to come together to “share their experiences, give and receive feedback, and rely on each other for support.”

Courtland Allen, host and founder of Indie Hackers, is an accomplished business owner himself. As a Y Combinator alum, Courtland values the importance of community and support from other entrepreneurs.
