Celebrating the U.S. Supreme Court’s Decision Protecting Dreamers

Two years ago, when the Administration decided to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Adobe, along with more than 100 leading businesses signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn the termination of the DACA program. We also signed the Coalition for the American Dream pledge, where employers and business groups reaffirmed their commitment to being an ally.
Today’s decision by the United States Supreme Court halts that Administration decision and is an important step toward protecting the more than 800,000 DACA program participants, known as Dreamers, who came to the U.S. as children and only know this country as home.
Permanent protection is still needed, and Adobe remains committed to advocating for this cause. We urge the U.S. Senate to pass the Dream and Promise Act, giving Dreamers opportunities to fully participate in all aspects of American society.
The United States has long been known as a country that welcomes people from all countries, religions and cultures—this is a hallmark of its success. From personal experience, I know immigrants are valuable and critical to our country’s success. My parents both emigrated from India in 1964, my mother was a part of our community as a schoolteacher for her entire career, and my father rose in his career as a professor to be one of the first diverse Chairs at Villanova University. Their success and contributions are a shared experience of many Adobe employees.
Adobe would not be the successful company it is today without the broad range of experiences our employees bring every day. The coordination around the amicus brief showcases the influence we can have as an industry when taking a unified approach to advocacy and action to stand for what we believe in.
At Adobe, we believe that everyone deserves respect and equal treatment, and we also stand with the Black community against hate, intolerance and racism. We will continue to support, elevate, and amplify diverse voices through our community of employees, creatives, customers and partners. We believe Adobe has a responsibility to drive change and ensure that every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion.
