Adobe Named a Best Employer for Women by Forbes

Today Forbes released their annual list of America’s Best Employers for Women, and we are proud to announce that Adobe has been recognized among the 300 companies listed! The list was compiled after an intensive survey taken between March and April 2020, and touched over 75,000 Americans with respondents spanning 31 industries.

Recognized for our culture, opportunities for career development, image, working conditions, fair-pay practices, and diversity, we are anchored by our core values and dedication to create opportunities for all. It is an honor to be recognized by Forbes as a leader in the workplace for women, but equally as valuable to be surrounded by such empowering and creative women. Here are just a few examples of the colleagues that make up Adobe.

Adobe WE

To demonstrate our commitment for women at Adobe and to share valuable career advice for all women in the workplace, earlier this year we released a video series called Adobe WE. The Adobe Women Executive Leadership series featured candid conversations among female leaders at Adobe about topics of importance to us all, such as navigating your career, building influence and exercising your seat at the table. Today, we release the final episode, Adobe WE: Rise.

Featuring Mala Sharma (VP Creative Cloud, Product Marketing), Maria Yap (VP, Digital Imaging), and Janice Boss (Sr. Director, Worldwide GTM Operations), the final episode reveals helpful ways to offer your perspective in meetings, how to leverage introversion as a superpower, and tips for generating actionable feedback to build your career.

Growing Careers

To celebrate this recognition, we also asked our employees directly why they believe Adobe is a Best Employer for Women. Their answers were candid and continually referenced their ability to grow their careers. Here’s what they said.

“Adobe is a great place to work for women simply because Adobe doesn’t just talk about gender equality – it is a top priority. In the nearly 5 years I have been at Adobe I have been blessed to be surrounded by strong mentors, structured growth programs and support networks that have allowed me to grow as an executive and to take on a variety of exciting new assignments and roles. For example, the Adobe Women’s Leadership Mentoring Program, through which I was an inaugural mentee, provided me with access to senior leaders at the VP level who could guide me on my own career path – and, ultimately, helped me to accelerate promotion to Senior Director last year. I have worked for a lot of tech companies over the 20+ years I have been in the industry – and I can say with absolute conviction that Adobe by far has both the culture and structures to blow most other companies away as it comes to growth and equality for women.”

— Kara Bauer, Senior Director, Adobe Campaign value Acceleration

“Adobe consistently makes women a priority and backs it up with clear policies: investments in pay parity, opportunity parity, family friendly benefits and Leadership development opportunities are concrete reminders of how Adobe supports women at work. When COVID hit and schools shut down, entropy hit our family quickly. The announcement that Adobe would provide an additional 20 COVID PTO days if needed was a lifeline. If schools do not return in the fall, I have the piece of mind knowing I can find a few extra days to help my kids with school while also managing my responsibilities at work. The care shown with recognizing Juneteenth, prioritizing Adobe for All and providing clear and responsible direction during COVID make me incredibly proud to be an Adobe employee.”

— Kerry Jamison, Senior Program Manager, ACS Strategy and Operations

“I’ve been at Adobe for 18 years, and have been lucky enough to have a fulfilling career balanced with an active family life! Over the years, Adobe has provided amazing female (and male) role models, a supportive community, and many valuable learning resources. Our D&I team is also doing a great job helping employees share their authentic personal stories and bring their “whole” selves to work – I’m encouraged to see us continuing on this journey now more than ever.”

— Carol Linburn, Senior Director, Creative Cloud Community Engagement

“Adobe does more than lip service when it comes to supporting women. It’s easy to say that you do, but it’s another to truly have policies and a culture that supports it. I don’t think I appreciated it very much before I became a mom—I was given the chance to lead a fairly high level and strategic initiative immediately upon my return. There was no assumption made that I would not be able to take on something of that nature because I now had a child to take care of. My manager at the time checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay, but never once doubted my ability to execute nor thought I had diminished capacity in my ability to take on work from being a parent. I am grateful that this is a battle I never had to fight thanks to Adobe’s culture.”

— Kay Matsuo, Senior Director, Licensing Programs
