New from Adobe: The Adobe Creative Educator Program
We are excited to announce the launch of Adobe Creative Educator – a professional development badging and community for educators in every subject area and grade level. Whether teachers are new to digital media or have taught elements of design and digital storytelling, Adobe Creative Educator explores how to instruct and evaluate creativity across the curriculum.
How to become an Adobe Creative Educator
Becoming an Adobe Creative Educator is simple. First, educators must take the Creativity for All Level 1 course on The Adobe Education Exchange. This course navigates definitions of creativity, what it looks like in different subject areas, the iterative creative process, and ways to assess creativity. Once educators have completed the Level 1 course, they are asked to complete a learning artifact: a graphic. This graphic is a teacher’s creativity manifesto which answers the prompt, How will you support your students’ creativity? Or What is your goal as a creative educator? The graphic can be created in any Adobe tool --- Adobe Spark, Illustrator, Photoshop, and more, depending on the applicant’s level of knowledge in Adobe tools. Even if it’s an educator’s first time using Adobe, Adobe Creative Educator provides basic tutorials for Creative Cloud and Adobe Spark, a tool with design guard rails and ready-to-go templates.
Once applicants have submitted their graphic, they’ll receive their Adobe Creative Educator Level 1 Badge and an exclusive Adobe Creative Educator digital toolkit. This toolkit includes a deck of creativity prompt cards, an interactive poster to help track the creative process, social media overlays, background photos, and more! Summit and launch
To launch Adobe Creative Educator, our team and Creativity Crew members hosted a livestream event featuring educational thought leaders Mark Martin, Sherri Kushner, Al Thomas, Manuel Herrera, Felisa Ford, Jennifer Williams, Tanya Avrith, and more. Watch the 3-hour launch partyevent on-demand on our YouTube channel. This launch party includes panel discussions, a hands-on sketchnoting activity, and celebrations!
In addition to our launch event, we also hosted the first virtual Adobe Education Summitfrom July 28 – 30th. The summit featured 60+ speakers including international educators, industry leaders, and Adobe team members. You can still register and access the on-demand recorded summit here through July 2021! From inspirational keynotes to hands-on Adobe Creative Cloud demos, you can choose a path in the summit that best meets your professional development needs.
