Adobe named a leader in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce

The evolving realities of a digitally driven society were punctuated with the acceleration of e-commerce during the COVID-19 disruption for businesses.

Over the past months we have seen brands turning hundreds of stores into instant pick, pack, and ship locations to keep up with staggering demands, as well as businesses adding direct-to-consumer (DTC) capabilities overnight via Magento Commerce to move stagnant inventory.

E-commerce leaders, partnered with their IT, operations, and marketing counterparts, need more than just a one-size-fits-all e-commerce solution. They require an agile e-commerce platform that is flexible when external or internal conditions necessitate change. All the while, companies can’t afford for these pivots to take months or years to materialize.

Adobe is transforming the way brands and businesses think about e-commerce. An example of this is Carrier Enterprise, which created an agile yet easy-to-use buying experience for its contractor customers.

“We have embraced the agility offered by the Magento platform as we weave technology into every touchpoint and respond to customer feedback through quick iterations, while rapidly improving the overall experience,” says Ed Gaffney, president of e-commerce at Carrier Enterprise. “Magento, at the core of our B2B transformation, has increased sales and further strengthened our relationship with our customers.”

We believe Adobe’s latest recognition as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce, for the fourth year in a row, reinforces the commerce vision and roadmap we’ve been executing. Adobe has been evaluated as a Leader since our acquisition of Magento in June 2018. We were one of 15 vendors that were evaluated in the report for their ability to execute and completeness of vision.

Global span, commerce scope, and our ecosystem deliver customer value

Adobe’s global span is demonstrated through our extensive global solution integrator and partner network. Magento Commerce is the dominant platform in the midmarket and delivers capabilities for all commerce models, including the ability to serve both B2B and B2C companies on a single platform. We continue to have an expansive list of customer references across all business and brand sizes.

Case in point: HP Asia Pacific, for example, is using one Adobe Commerce Cloud instance to support multiple stores across different regions, while allowing each store to offer a uniquely local experience and appeal to customers from different e-commerce cultures. The company designed a three-tiered structure based on an Adobe Commerce Cloud core, delivering common site navigation, page templates, dashboards, and security to customers across different regions.

Magento Commerce includes robust, out-of-the-box commerce capabilities, including a native content management editor with Page Builder, making it easy for e-commerce professionals or marketers to make content edits and updates without the need for a developer. Also included are robust AI-fueled features such as product recommendations, powered by Adobe Sensei, all designed to improve your commerce conversion and revenue.

Our ecosystem approach is unique in that developers, agencies, and solution integrators work cohesively with us to accelerate Adobe’s development velocity to empower brands to innovate and scale their commerce experience. Adobe Commerce Cloud helps businesses realize experience-driven commerce by leveraging powerful applications from Adobe Experience Cloud with Magento Commerce. Adobe plans to continue to expand the ability for our customers to make every experience shoppable.

About our commerce solutions

Magento Commerce, which powers Adobe Commerce Cloud, is a leading e-commerce platform for brands of all sizes that support B2B, B2C, and B2E use cases across industries.

Adobe Commerce Cloud, part of Adobe Experience Cloud, deeply integrates with Adobe Analytics Cloud, Adobe Marketing Cloud, and Adobe Advertising Cloud to provide a highly customizable, end-to-end platform that enables brands to manage, personalize, and optimize the commerce experience across every touchpoint. Industry-leading brands like HP Inc., Unilever, Rite Aid, Tweezerman, Catbird, and others rely on Magento Commerce and Adobe Commerce Cloud to connect with their shoppers and deliver the best commerce experience imaginable.

“Adobe Experience Cloud solutions are the key to understanding what consumers want and delivering the products and services they need — establishing a relationship from the moment they start shopping to purchase and beyond,” says Ted Malone, VP of consumer products and services at TiVo.

Magento Commerce has unparalleled front-end flexibility, allowing businesses to choose the content solution that best fits their needs or operate in a multiheaded fashion. Brands may choose to bring their own content management system or use Adobe Experience Manager and deploy Magento in a headless configuration for full experience-driven commerce realization. Most will utilize the built-in, best-in-class turnkey native content capabilities. Drag-and-drop content management capabilities from Page Builder and progressive web application development tools in PWA Studio enable both B2C and B2B companies to rapidly create rich, mobile-first experiences.
