Ping Identity’s technology enables enterprises to achieve Zero Trust identity-defined security and more personalized, streamlined user experiences. The Ping Intelligent Identity™ platform provides customers, workforce, and partners with access to cloud, mobile, SaaS and on-premises applications across the hybrid enterprise. Over half of the Fortune 100 have chosen Ping Identity for their identity expertise, open standards, and partner support.

Nearly 20 years ago, Ping Identity developed the first open-source toolkit for single sign-on technology, which eventually evolved to become the industry standard. While no longer a startup, Ping Identity continues to cultivate a culture of innovation. To this day, the CEO continues to run the company with the flexibility and speed of a startup.

Investment in experience

This spirit of innovation is reflected in all aspects of the company, especially when it comes to the customer experience. Take, for example, Ping’s website, one of the company’s most effective marketing tools and the digital destination for those looking to learn about the latest innovations in identity management and security.

With in-person events temporarily on hold, Ping’s site has seen an 88 percent increase in traffic. Understanding that visitors expect the site to perform smoothly regardless of the amount of traffic, Ping Identity’s web dev team increased site speed with a content delivery network. Now, regardless of how many visitors are on the site at any given time, content still loads quickly, creating a better site experience.

Another recent change Ping has made to the site is transitioning its content management system (CMS) to the cloud. Built on Adobe Experience Manager, Ping’s site of over 8,000 pages and 80,000 images has traditionally been hosted on premise, which meant manual updates. Wanting to invest in the latest technology, Ping’s web dev team invested weeks and sometimes months making sure the latest update was running smoothly. With a small team overseeing the site, prioritizing updates meant deprioritizing other projects.

When presented with the opportunity to move their site on the cloud via Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service, the promise of automated updates was compelling. By shifting to the cloud, Ping’s web dev team no longer needs to invest resources to implement updates or manage uptimes. So, the decision was easy, and the Ping Identity site was transitioned to the fully cloud-native Experience Manager as a Cloud Service. Now, new product innovations and maintenance patches are automatically deployed, eliminating the need to plan resources for making upgrades and saving the team from falling behind on versions. The web team can shift their focus to projects that make a positive impact on both the digital experience and drive business impact.

According to Aaron Hughes, web development manager at Ping Identity: “Customers, regardless of industry, expect a seamless and engaging digital experience. Especially with more people working from home, digital channels play an even more important role in the customer journey. Moving our site to Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service has enabled us to focus on delivering the content and user experience our customers demand.”

With less time spent on managing the technical aspects of their site, Ping’s web team can focus on what matters most – customer experience. First project on the list – a new site navigation to improve the user experience and searchability. Other site enhancements on the docket include capturing customer data without form fills to improve the customer experience further.
