For the fifth year in a row, Adobe Japan has been selected as one of the “Best Companies to Work For” by the Great Place to Work Institute, coming in at no. 17 in the medium-size category (100-999 employees), skyrocketing 23 spots from last year!
The Best Companies to Work For ranking is held annually by the Great Place to Work Institute Japan (GPTW Japan), which scores an organization’s level of job satisfaction. In this year’s ranking, the focus of the list was around newly established and expanded benefit programs and the effectiveness of internal communications, especially in response to the coronavirus.
Adobe has made the safety and health of its employees, as well as the health of their families and the people around them, its top priority. Since instructing employees to work from home since March 2020, the Adobe Japan team has introduced several new benefit programs. Here is a snapshot of what has made a big impact in the lives of our employees.
While many employees feel that working from home has been productive, there is no doubt that it is still a challenge, especially with trying to maintain their work life with their personal life. To address this issue, we have set up monthly global days-off for all our employees around the world. These global days-off allow all our employees to take a break together and focus on maintaining their wellbeing.
We know that having a healthy lifestyle is a top priority for our employees. To that end, we expanded our Wellness Reimbursement program, which covers the cost of wellbeing resources that help employees, and their families live healthy lives. Resources that we cover include gym equipment, virtual fitness classes, running shoes, and more.
Work from home reimbursement
In order to create a comfortable office setup at home, we have given employees a work from home reimbursement fund. This covers computer equipment, desks, chairs, and everything an employee needs to be successful at home. We even provide a separate internet reimbursement!
Outside of new benefits, we also know that employees want transparent communication. To that end, our leadership team gives frequent updates around the future of work, business goals, and more. Not only that, but monthly newsletters have also helped employees with wellbeing tips, and career development resources. For our Adobe Japan team, they regularly look forward to monthly virtual happy hours hosted by the Adobe Japan president, Jim McCready!
Supporting our customers
Our Adobe Japan team is also especially dedicated to our customers. Which is why they’ve gone above and beyond to help them succeed. As the effects of the coronavirus continue, Adobe has introduced several support programs to ensure that our customers keep their businesses moving forward. This includes implementing new capabilities in our products to improve collaboration, hosting monthly virtual events that teach customers new ways to use our products, and more. We also established the Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund to help visual creators stay on track and achieve their dreams.
Even in the wake of the coronavirus, Adobe Japan has made it an absolute priority to create a comfortable work from home environment for its employees. We are honored to receive this recognition and we couldn’t be prouder of our Adobe Japan team, who have been incredibly resilient during these challenging times. As business development manager Hiroto Ryuzaki sums it up, “I feel we have a culture that encourages people to think creatively and generate new ideas. We are then empowered to put those ideas into action to overcome challenges together.”
