10 years of innovation and growth in Australia
For the tenth year in a row, the Great Place to Work Institute has named Adobe Australia a Best Place to Work. This year we came in at no. 2 in the 100-999 employee category!
After 10 years of being recognized as a Great Place to Work in Australia, we’re sharing four ways how we’ve grown and innovated over that time:
1: Employee growth and office spaces
Our people are our most important asset. Adobe’s success is not possible without our amazing employees, who rally around our mission and strategy – to create products and experiences that inspire people, transform industries, and move the world forward. Over the past 10 years our employee numbers in the region have multiplied 6x, starting with under 100 employees in 2012, and now with over 600 in 2022. Along with this growth, we have expanded our office spaces across Sydney and Melbourne, taking up an additional 1.5 floors in Sydney, while creating our first Customer Experience Centre for customer and priority meetings, as well as more workstations and conference rooms.
2: A culture of learning and development
We believe that it is important for employees to feel empowered to drive their careers and maximise the investments Adobe makes in them. Along with our Professional Development fund (up to USD 1,000 per employee per year) and Education Assistance Program (up to $10,000 USD per year for eligible tuition and books for courses), we hold an annual week-long careers program raising awareness of the internal mobility process to ensure employees felt equipped to navigate and drive their own aspirations. This initiative called Career Fest, started in ANZ in 2020, and is now conducted across Asia Pacific, India, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions every year.
3: Celebrating diversity and presence of engaged employee networks
It is our belief that everyone deserves equal treatment and opportunity. Building a diverse and inclusive workplace that is reflective of the world we live in is not only the right thing to do, but essential to ensuring that our employee base represents the broad range of customers that Adobe serves. Our commitment to our people is cemented in our long track record of progressive people-centred benefits and programs, continued investment in the growth and development of our employees around the world, and vibrant employee community networks, which amplify the diverse backgrounds among us and foster an enriched culture of belonging.
In March 2021, Adobe Australia announced its intention to launch a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as a commitment to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our continued focus on advancing diversity and inclusion in Australia, and our global Adobe For All vision, which is deeply embedded into our culture, provides a strong foundation to embark upon the reconciliation journey.
4: Giving back to communities
We are committed about supporting the broader community, and actively encourage our employees to do the same. Donations made to eligible charities by each employee is matched 1:1 by Adobe, up to $10,000 USD per year. For every hour our employees volunteer, we contribute an individual volunteer grant of $25 USD for employees to donate to the charity of their choice. In 2021 alone, our employees donated almost $40,000 to various causes and logged over 1,350 volunteer hours.
With 10 years of growth and innovation, we are excited to continue building a legacy of being a great place to work. Experience it for yourself and apply today!
To determine the 2022 list, Great Place to Work surveyed over half a million employees on issues including how trustworthy, caring and fair the company is in times of crises; employees’ physical, emotional and financial health; and the company’s broader community impact. Particular attention was paid to how employees’ experiences varied depending on their job role, gender, race/ethnicity, payroll status, and other characteristics to ensure that the company is creating a great workplace for all.
