Introducing Vector Recoloring with Adobe Firefly

Vector recoloring with Adobe Firefly

Last month, Adobe unveiled Adobe Firefly — our new family of creative generative AI models, initially focused on images and text effects — along with a beta, inviting the creative community to test and help us evolve the first model.

We believe that ethically developed and deployed generative AI can help increase creative confidence in people of every skill and experience level, serving as a creative co-pilot to remove barriers between imagination and blank page. Built on advanced machine learning models that enable a computer to generate content based on nothing more than a description, generative AI evolves the possibility and promise of AI exponentially by fundamentally transforming the conversation between creator and computer into something more natural, intuitive and powerful.

Innovation is a journey, and when we launched Firefly, we noted that we were just getting started. Today, I’m excited to introduce our generative AI-powered vector recoloring tools, now available in the Firefly beta.

Vector recoloring in Adobe Firefly

When graphic designers and artists want to create vector art – unique, beautiful content with clean lines and shapes that can later be scaled to any size – they turn to Adobe Illustrator, the world’s leading vector-based drawing tool. Today, we are building on over 35 years of development experience and user feedback to expand Illustrator’s capabilities with generative AI.

Vector recoloring in the Firefly beta now enables you to:

Unlocking the power of creativity with vectors

As a line-based alternative to pixel art, vector art can be used for many purposes – website designs that adjust to different resolutions; artwork suitable for layouts larger than printed pages, including billboards and vehicle wraps; and motion graphics with easy SVG asset animation capabilities.

Firefly’s new vector tools expand your creative capabilities and speed up time-consuming tasks. You’ll be able to quickly generate color renditions across different formats, create vector variations for dark and light modes on UI interfaces, and more.

You can also use these tools to rapidly recolor artwork based on client or customer feedback, adhere to brand requirements, create social media graphics, develop company logos, generate poster designs, and composite in Adobe Photoshop. These tasks will now take only minutes or seconds, drastically saving you time and costs.

Join the Beta

Vector support is just the latest of many creative capabilities we will add to the Firefly beta. Generative AI vector features will be integrated into Adobe Illustrator and available for customers to use in their workflows.

We’d love to hear from you and learn more about what you want to see in Firefly and generative AI across our applications. If you aren’t already creating with Firefly, sign up for the beta and join the conversation on Discord.

We look forward to your thoughts – and keeping you updated on new features we plan to bring to the Adobe Firefly beta throughout the year!
