Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and a strong community is crucial to collectively defending against cyber threats. At Adobe, we believe that transparency and knowledge sharing is critical to moving cybersecurity forward.
With an increase in digital technology, comes an increase in cyber threats, and unfortunately, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are not immune. These organizations provide essential support and services to over 1 billion people worldwide, often leveraging technology to carry out their activities. NGOs often face resource constraints when it comes to understanding and defending against cyber threats while simultaneously supporting their dedicated communities. For example, less than 15 percent of NGOs have cybersecurity experts on their staff.
At Adobe, we see an opportunity for technology companies to work with our customers and communities — to make a unique impact where it is needed most.
Giving back with CyberPeace
Adobe believes that as a technology company, we have a unique role to play in being responsible global citizens. From hospitals to humanitarian NGOs, threat actors target the organizations playing an essential role in supporting those in need. Adobe can bring the skills of our organization to help NGOs to increase their responsiveness and resilience against evolving cyber threats in ways that would likely be difficult for them to achieve on their own. The use of technology is not only supportive of their mission but also important to their success. To help in the mission to protect NGOs around the world, Adobe has partnered with the CyberPeace Institute through their CyberPeace Builders program. This program offers distinctive matchmaking opportunities allowing corporate volunteers to work directly with NGOs to help improve their security capabilities and overall resilience.
Adobe x CyberPeace Institute
Since joining the CyberPeace Institute we have had the pleasure of collaborating on the mission to defend those often most vulnerable in cyberspace. Hear directly from two Adobe x CyberPeace Builders who share what contributing to this program means to them.
I'm proud to serve as a volunteer on behalf of Adobe for the CyberPeace Builders program. This program is not just a fantastic opportunity to help those who need it most, but also an opportunity to give back to the broader security community. My mission within this program is to help safeguard humanitarian, non-governmental organization (NGO)s that empower, protect, and improve people's lives.
My role in the program is quite fascinating, I get to delve into the dark web to help identify leaked credentials that could be used to compromise my partner NGO organization. The information I discovered can be used by the respective NGOs, enabling them to better protect their organization. This type of proactive protection and detection is crucial in security.
I'm grateful to Adobe, and the CyberPeace Institute program for providing me with this incredible opportunity to make a difference with this important effort.
—Barath Subramaniam, Senior Security Engineer, Adobe
I've always had the desire to contribute to non-governmental organizations (NGO)s and the Adobe collaboration with the CyberPeace Institute presented the perfect opportunity to not only challenge me professionally, but also promote my personal professional growth in ways I have been searching for.
As part of the CyberPeace Builders program, one of the NGOs I work with helps victims of explosive weapons in conflict zones. By engaging with NGOs and asking questions, we were able to tailor an incident response plan suited to their needs.
After productive research, exploring cybersecurity frameworks, and truly understanding the NGOs needs, I have been able to deliver in powerful solutions to help my NGO partners and their mission to protect lives. In addition, I was able to sharpen my cybersecurity skills, further helping me in developing my own personal brand and career.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the CyberPeace Institute and spreading the word about this important organization making an impact.
