Workfront and Frame.io integration powers unified content review and approval
It’s no secret that the demand for content across websites, paid and social media, email marketing, and beyond is increasing exponentially. Meanwhile, many large organizations are trying to meet that demand while relying on their existing disconnected tools and systems, patching together a content supply chain that falls somewhere between inelegant and unreliable. It’s why streamlined collaboration — especially when it comes to reviews and approvals — is top of mind for marketing, according to a survey conducted by Adobe and London Research.
To address these challenges, Adobe has built a native integration between Workfront and Frame.io. This new integration provides a content creation experience that unifies project managers, creatives, and stakeholders throughout the entire process. Now, teams can optimize key parts of their content supply chain by using one interactive system from a project’s inception through its delivery. The integration is enterprise-ready and requires no connectors, plugins, or custom development.
A seamless approach
In the past, marketing teams had their preferred tools for tracking resources and progress, while creatives used different tools to share ideas and feedback. Critical updates weren’t always synchronized across apps, resulting in miscommunication, confusion, and delayed or inaccurate content going into market. By bringing Workfront and Frame.io together, we’ve created a seamless way for creatives to collaborate in Frame.io while progress is automatically updated in Workfront, so everyone has what they need to stay informed throughout the process.
When the status of the task is updated in Frame.io it also updates in Workfront.
With this integration, creative and marketing teams can work in their preferred environments and trust that data will flow across both solutions. This includes gaining access and insight into creative processes, which can often feel like a black box to those responsible for project management. It also allows teams to capture, analyze, and report on both operational tasks and creative processes, leading to more holistic decision making.
Working in parallel
Workfront is purpose-built for planning and serves as the backbone of a project. The kickoff starts with a Workfront request, to which you can attach creative briefs so there’s a central repository for all relevant details. You can then assign resources and use customizable project templates that will prompt you through the various steps associated with a particular type of project.
When a project is created in Workfront, a parallel project is created in Frame.io.
Because Workfront seamlessly integrates with Frame.io, a parallel project is automatically created in Frame.io. Users assigned to the project will be shared in both applications. Comments on creative assets in Frame.io are visible in Workfront for accurately mirrored communication. Files uploaded in Frame.io are also accessible through Workfront, which means that everyone has the option to work in the environment in which they’re most comfortable without worrying about missing critical information.

The creative hub
While Adobe Creative Cloud powers much of the creation process, Frame.io serves as the collaboration hub and centralized repository for assets in production, supporting more than 500 different file formats. With native integrations to Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as a new Share for Review (private beta) for Photoshop, Frame.io allows creatives to work within their preferred tools while collaborating seamlessly with each other.
Because Frame.io allows creatives to leave specific feedback directly on these assets, it ensures that the assets are ready for approval in Workfront. When the asset is approved, its status is changed in both applications.

In a recent case study with VMware by Broadcom, Creative director Jef Tyler summed it up.
“If you’re trying to run a global brand and you’re trying to do it with a lot of different tools, you’re doing a lot of extra work. We can’t do our jobs without Adobe.”
Enterprise ready
As an enterprise-class solution, this integration provides organizations with the utmost in security. Enterprise admin controls let you create private projects and set share-link expirations. Additional features like password-protected sharing, visible and forensic watermarking, digital rights management (DRM), and auditable approval trails meet the most stringent compliance requirements.
Powering the Content Supply Chain
Adobe is addressing content supply chain problems in a way no other vendor can. And providing a unified solution for collaboration, reviews, and approvals with this new integration is a critical underpinning. With native integration between Workfront and Frame.io, Adobe is helping our customers produce the personalized, compelling content consumers demand — along with the brand compliance, speed, and scale organizations require.
