Substance 3D updates: More control over generated marketing images, better collaboration through 3D Viewer and more
If you use Adobe Firefly in Substance 3D Stager to create marketing images, new Stager features make it even easier to precisely control the images you create. Read on to learn more about that, along with the capabilities of the new Substance 3D Viewer (beta), and insights into digital product design.
Updates to Substance 3D Stager
The latest Substance 3D Stager update introduces new features that give you unprecedented control over the images you generate in Adobe Firefly. By placing your hero model and using 3D guide objects, you can precisely dictate the layout and composition of a generated scene, with the product or other object you’re featuring always placed exactly where you want it in relation to the background elements. This fast and intuitive workflow speeds up creating a number of marketing images in different generated scenes.
Also new: You can generate simple 3D models through text prompts, then use those models as either background elements or guide objects. With this new capability, you can create compelling visuals quickly without having to make and texture less important props and scene elements. The Stager update also includes improved Match Image lighting and image compositing workflows. Read more.
The latest on Substance 3D Viewer (beta)
The new Substance 3D Viewer (beta) is a lightweight desktop application that supports opening, viewing, adjusting, and rendering more than 70 3D file formats. What sets this viewer apart is its seamless integration with other Adobe tools and collaborative capabilities.
In Photoshop (beta), you can drag and drop 3D models directly into a canvas, where the models become editable Smart Objects, a fluid workflow that enables quick iterations. Beyond Photoshop integration, the viewer excels as a collaborative tool for sharing models textured in Substance 3D Painter across organizations. For 3D professionals working with various CAD design and traditional 3D tools, it provides a unified platform to quickly inspect and share models from multiple sources, streamlining team communication and design reviews.
