Introducing our 2021 Adobe India Women-in-Technology Scholarship winners

At Adobe Research, we bring together the smartest, most driven people we can find to create innovative technologies for our software products to better serve consumers, creative professionals, developers, and enterprises.

Through the Adobe India Women-in-Technology Scholarship, we are striving towards creating gender equality in science, technology and engineering domains by encouraging women to showcase their excellence in computing and technology and become future leaders and role models in the field. On the impact of the scholarship, principal scientist and the women-in-technology program lead, Atanu Sinha, says, “All the past and present scholars represent the broad spectrum of colleges in India and support our philosophy that strong technical skills and innovative ideas come from everywhere.”

This year, we are proud to announce that the Adobe India Research WIT Scholarship awarded 6 winners, with each of them receiving funding for tuition, opportunities to interview for an internship, mentoring services, and a pass to attend the Grace Hopper Conference in India. Here are our 2021 winners describing what winning the scholarship means to them.

To me, winning the Adobe WIT scholarship puts me in a position to inspire everyone, especially young women, to achieve their goals. I want to emphasize the importance of research and development, and how we can effectively contribute to this ever-growing Computer Science community. I feel one of the biggest challenges of technology is that women refrain from pursuing research. Even though society has progressed a lot, I have seen young women around me losing courage because they feel they must live by “societal standards.” I want to curb this mentality by growing myself with Adobe Research and working towards my PhD, and by being the change I wish to see in this world. I am once again really grateful to Adobe for supporting us. We will try our best to help Adobe in the journey to encourage women in STEM and promote the use of tech for social good!
