Create your story, inspired by West Side Story
Heritage and culture have an indelible impact on creativity. From secret recipes handed down through generations, to traditional wedding dances, we all remember different things about our upbringing. Everyone has had unique experiences that shape our perspectives and who we are. Our stories all deserve to be seen and heard, because when they are, the world becomes a more vibrant place.
That’s why we’re asking: what’s your story? We’re excited to announce a new collaboration with 20th Century Studios to mark the upcoming release of West Side Story, the classic tale of fierce rivalries and young love in 1957 New York City, honoring the culture, the communities and stories that help define us. We’re inviting everyone to Create Your Story by designing a postcard that shows how your heritage has shaped your creativity, inspired by the film.
“Film is powerful in the way it can show us how our heritage and culture help shape who we are and how we view the world. What film better captures that idea than West Side Story?” said John Travis vice president, Brand Marketing, Adobe. “Adobe is thrilled to join 20th Century Studios in inviting our community to share their unique stories and we can’t wait to see what they create.”
“20th Century Studios and Adobe have teamed up to create a truly inspiring program in celebration of the upcoming West Side Story release,” shared Lylle Breier, SVP Global Marketing Partnerships, Walt Disney Studios. “This collaboration invites creators all over the world to share their stories through creativity and showcases the importance of heritage, culture and community.”
Let the world know how your heritage has helped shape your creativity by designing a postcard using your favorite Adobe Creative Cloud app and assets from the film including graphics, textures and icons that you can download or add to your Creative Cloud Library.
From self-portraits to representations of cultural heritage, the possibilities are endless to creatively express your unique story. Share your postcard on Instagram or Twitter using #CreateYourStory and #Contest in the caption for a chance to win US $10,000 (or local currency equivalent), a mentorship session with 20th Century Studios or Steven Spielberg's production company, Amblin, and a one-year Creative Cloud membership.

Adobe is proud to provide everyone with the inspiration, tools and platform to express themselves and share their stories with the world. Creativity belongs to everyone, and everyone’s story deserves to be told. We can’t wait to see what you create!
