Creativity swings for the fences at MLB All-Star Weekend
Hey batter batter! For All-Star Weekend 2022, Adobe took part in the MLB’s All-Star Game Family Fun Day in Santa Monica to bring together creativity and sports in a unique and exciting way.
MLB All-Star Weekend, ahead of the MLB All-Star game, is an event that features programming for fans across the featured city (Los Angeles). This year, MLB created a brand-new activation space called Oceanfront, which was a fan fest on the Santa Monica Pier. As a first year MLB sponsor, Adobe activated on-site at the pier to engage with fans and beach goers throughout the weekend.
The footprint on the pier featured an art installation created out of baseball-inspired materials (hats, gloves, cleats, bats) spelling out All Star Weekend. Adobe also worked with the MLB Creator Class and additional Adobe artists to create uniquely designed baseballs to be displayed throughout the space featuring QR codes driving to content on their social channels.
Fans passed by the personalized baseball wall, had a chance for a photo opportunity in front of the logo installation and then headed to the giveaway section where fans selected Adobe-branded pencil pouches and designed their bags with custom pins featuring Adobe and MLB logos, and other beach and baseball inspired art. It was a huge hit – pun fully intended.

Transforming a baseball into art
Working closely with Adobe Creators and the 2022 MLB Creator Class ‘Starting 9’, we challenged the group to bring baseball, lifestyle and creativity together by way of designing a baseball that represents or speaks to who they are as a person.
Neha Assar
“This year the Major League Baseball All-Star game will take place at the one and only Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. I painted this ball to represent not only my city and my team, but to represent my culture and passion for henna art,” Los Angeles-based henna artist Neha Assar said.
“One half represents by team, and the other half of the ball represents South Asian culture with bright colors and intricate patterns. This ball encompasses who I am as a south Asian artist being born and raised in Southern California.”

“I was inspired to make some art with inspiration from two of my favorite things – tacos and baseball!”
Brian Francisco
"I wanted this ball to represent where I was born, and where I grew up, and the most important people in my life. The sun and stars represent the Philippines and the Maple Leaf represents Canada. "

Vanessa Rivera
“We’ve been traveling and creating our art as a family for 4 years now and so we used that as our inspiration for the ball. We added tiny decorations like a compass, sea shells, and cotton ball clouds around the photos and added the PS logo on top because well Photoshop is like our middle name now 😅.”

“You don’t have to be an artist to be creative.”
