IBC 2024: Take video editing to the next level with the Adobe Video Ecosystem
Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects are equipped with a vast array of tools that help video creators around the world tell their stories just the way they want. Thanks to close collaboration with nearly 500 partners, Premiere Pro and After Effects’ capabilities are enhanced further, continually making our software faster, more reliable, and more powerful. With the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) just around the corner, check out all the ways the Adobe Video Ecosystem supports professional video editors in every step of their workflow — from pre-production to post-production.
The key component of this end-to-end workflow will be the release of Adobe Premiere Pro 25 and After Effects 25, available in October, making the industry’s leading video editor and the industry’s leading motion graphics tool even more powerful and versatile. New Premiere Pro features include an innovative new color management system and a new context-aware Properties Panel, while After Effects now comes with enhanced 3D workflows and a whole bunch of new animation presets. Both apps will also feature even faster performance and modern, refreshed user interfaces. Read more here for details on Premiere Pro and here for details on After Effects.
Premiere Pro and After Effects are extended by a huge ecosystem of third-party technology partners, panel extensions, and plugins that enables video creators to find just the right tools for their projects, whether that’s live sports broadcasts, social media videos, virtual productions, unscripted TV shows, or even award-winning movies such as 12th Fail. Whatever the type of video, chances are there’s a solution in the Adobe Video Ecosystem that will make teams’ lives easier. And if there isn’t, you can be sure we’re already collaborating with a partner to make it happen.
In this article, we’ll take a look at the main features and tools from import to export — made possible by Premiere Pro and After Effects integrations — that you can use today:
Make your workflows more seamless with Premiere Pro’s expanding format support
Importing files into Premiere Pro is now easier than ever, as the list of cameras and file formats we support just keeps getting bigger. You can work with a wide range of native media formats from the latest cameras without transcoding or file rewrapping.
Here’s a quick overview of the some of the supported cameras:
- Canon: Premiere Pro now supports these new state-of-the-art cameras: EOS C400, EOS R1, and EOS R5 Mark II.

- RED: We’ve added Premiere Pro support for the Extended Highlights feature of the RED V-RAPTOR XL [X] and V-RAPTOR [X] cameras, designed to capture more color and detail in the extremely bright portions of your image.
- Sony: You can import and directly edit media from all of the Cinema Line cameras including the FX3, FX6, as well as Sony’s line of high-end CineAlta cameras including the VENICE 2 digital cinema camera and the new BURANO — an extremely versatile and compact full-frame cinema camera specifically designed for small team productions.

There are also several integrations that make it easier to set up your projects:
- Insta360: With the Insta360 Reframe plugin, you can edit 360°-videos directly in Premiere Pro, while the “no-stitch” editing plugin enables Insta360 Pro users to jump right into editing 360° videos without even having to stitch their footage.
- LTC: Linear timecode (LTC) support, released with Premiere Pro v24.6, encodes timecode data in an audio signal for precise synchronization of video and audio sources.
This feature is supported by Tentacle Sync, Rode, Ambient, and others. Ambient’s Lockit products, for example, enable syncing with LTC on set, which speeds up post-production workflows, and the NanoLockit even integrates with Frame.io Camera to Cloud for real-time logging.

Finally, storage and media asset management solutions enhance collaboration for creative teams, wherever the team members are based. Here’s a selection of tools made possible by our technology partners:
- Watchtower: This panel extension by Knights of the Editing Table auto syncs Premiere Pro project bins with system folders. This means you don’t have to search for recently added files and manually import them into the right bin — you can just continue editing.
- CineCert IMF Plugin: Edit IMF files directly in Premiere Pro with the CineCert Premiere Pro integration. Just load a Composition Playlist (CPL) to make a timeline available for editing.
- Edit Cloud: This solution, which integrates with the full Adobe suite, enables creative production teams to transition from on-premise systems to a cloud-based editing workflow using Premiere Pro. Not only does this boost productivity, it also leads to significant time and cost savings and reduces the carbon footprint.
- MoovIT: To complement Helmut FX and Helmut.cloud, MoovIT also released two free-to-use panels to enhance workflows: the VFX Panel, which manages and automates your exchange with VFX departments, and the GrowthAccelerator panel, which is especially useful if you work in live environments and want to update your growing file that’s still recording.
- SNS EVO: Either on-prem or in the cloud, SNS EVO is fully compatible with Productions for Premiere Pro and comes with three great apps: The ShareBrowser panel for Premiere Pro which enables editors to search, find, and import exactly what they need; Slingshot, an automation engine for repetitive data processing tasks; and Nomad, which retrieves all the proxy media and source files needed to work on remote editing projects offline. Enhance your creativity with AI extensions
Premiere Pro includes a wide range of AI tools that simplify complex tasks and speed up the editing process, including Text-Based Editing, Enhance Speech, and Audio Category Tagging. Thanks to our close collaboration with key partners there’s now a whole ecosystem of AI panel extensions and plugins that help boost your productivity even further.
Here’s an overview of just some of them:
- Quickture: An AI-powered editing assistant, available as a Premiere Pro extension, that lets professional editors and producers analyze their footage, find their story, and create rough cuts instantly based on natural language prompts.
- FireCut: An AI panel extension for Premiere Pro that automates repetitive, time-consuming tasks (e.g. removing multiple takes, editing podcasts, and creating shorts from long-form content) to reduce editing time significantly. FireCut also transcribes audio in 50+ languages, so you can easily add animated captions in trending styles for social media.
- Boris FX Continuum: This suite of visual effects and motion graphics plugins offers over 300 effects and 3,000+ professionally designed presets, fully supported in Premiere Pro. It includes a brand-new upscaling capability that allows you to scale any footage with crystal-clear results, exporting up to 4x the original size without noticeable quality loss.
Discover how to work with this effect inside of Premiere Pro:
- Digital Anarchy Beauty Box Video: This skin retouching and digital makeup plugin automatically identifies skin tones and creates a mask that limits the smoothing effect to the skin areas. For example, it can be used to reduce visual distractions such as skin shine and correct uncontrolled lighting.
- Webcam: This plugin by Hyper Brew lets you dock your webcam feed directly in Adobe apps like Premiere Pro and After Effects, which is especially useful when you want to record video tutorials. Check out this quick walkthrough.
- WellSaid Voiceover: With this AI voiceover extension, you can directly access audio clips from WellSaid Studio in Premiere Pro, enabling you to seamlessly create and edit production-quality, dynamic voiceovers for your projects.
- Moments Lab: This Premiere Pro plugin enables multimodal AI search, including AI-generated editorial information about your video, such as summaries, breakdowns of key sequences, and identifying compelling quotes.
Tap into the After Effects ecosystem for even more extensions
There are also lots of powerful panel extensions and plugins that extend the functionality of After Effects. We recommend you check out the following ones in particular:
- Topaz Video AI: The excellent suite for video upscaling and frame interpolation now includes a new After Effects plugin, which you can use to improve the image quality of your footage and reduce the blurring caused by objects in quick motion.
- LucidLink: The LucidLink panel for Premiere Pro and After Effects keeps you working in a creative environment: Collaborate from anywhere and access files instantly — with no downloading or waiting! The panel lets you search, load and pin clips, sequences and compositions without leaving the application, so you can keep your creative flow going.
- Irrealix: A powerful suite of After Effects plugins to render 3D Gaussian splats, stretch pixels along masks, create advanced gradients and mosaics, animate still images, and more.
- Brazu Copilot: An AI-driven editing assistant, available as an After Effects plugin, that quickly analyzes your project and suggests the best animations. It also enables you to create animations based on text prompts and helps adjust them to your needs.
You can also unlock the full potential of 3D motion design with a seamless, integrated workflow in After Effects, Substance 3D, and Maxon Cinema 4D:
For new subscribers, there’s even a unique opportunity to get the ultimate creator toolkit:
- Maxon One bundle: Maxon One’s comprehensive suite of 3D, VFX, motion design, visualization, and sculpting tools (Cinema 4D, Red Giant, Redshift, Universe, Forger, and ZBrush) is available now as a bundle with Adobe After Effects and Substance 3D.
Take advantage of better and more efficient exporting workflows
To help you make it faster and easier for you to create and publish your content, we’ve upgraded Premiere Pro’s export capabilities with the help of some key partners:
- Vimeo panel: With the free Vimeo panel for Premiere Pro, you can export your edited video directly to your designated Vimeo Team and Folder, ensuring you and your team stay organized. Users can now utilize Vimeo Teams and sign in with SSO and login provider support (login via Gmail/Facebook/Apple) right from within Adobe Premiere Pro.
- ProRes export: ProRes export from Premiere Pro is now up to three times faster both on MacOS and Windows, and export presets are now 16-bit for professional outputs.
- Hardware-accelerated decoding and encoding: Premiere Pro supports hardware-accelerated encoding to speed up performance and reduce the time to export H.264 and H.265 (HEVC) formats. Similarly, Premiere Pro also supports hardware-accelerated decoding to provide better playback performance while working with H.264/AVC, HEVC media in the timeline.
- More native social media exports: Your media can be seamlessly exported to popular social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, so you can directly post to your platform of choice from inside Premiere Pro.
