We’re excited to announce that Adobe is collaborating with Samsung to bring the power of Adobe’s leading creative and productivity apps to Samsung DeX. Unveiled today, Samsung DeX is a brand new mobile experience that allows people to connect their Samsung Galaxy S8 to a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, creating an Android-based desktop environment to access mobile apps, browse the web, send messages, and more. Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile, Lightroom mobile, Behance, and Photoshop Express for Android will be some of the first apps optimized to run on Samsung DeX.

Working with Samsung, Adobe is bringing powerful photo editing, organizing and sharing mobile apps – Lightroom mobile, Behance, and Photoshop Express – to the Samsung DeX platform. And it doesn’t stop there. Acrobat Reader mobile, the trusted, leading app for reliably viewing and working with PDFs on-the-go, is a natural fit for Samsung DeX. Documents contain much of a business’ core content and intellectual property. Making sure those documents are securely available to remote employees to edit, share, and sign from anywhere is crucial.

All four apps are designed to take advantage of compelling, new capabilities in Samsung DeX, including an optimized UI for multi-tasking, a desktop environment with keyboard and mouse support, resizable window capabilities, a task bar, pop-up notifications, and more. Optimizing our Android apps to support Samsung DeX will give our customers – from business travelers to enthusiast photographers – the freedom to quickly access working environments that best suit their needs for the moment.

Available for free via Google Play, Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile, Lightroom mobile, Behance, and Photoshop Express for Android will give people the flexibility and speed they need to work anywhere, and create and share photos using a Samsung Galaxy S8 as both their mobile and desktop solution. Acrobat Reader mobile, already used by over 300 million people to turn their devices into serious business tools, has been a hit on Android, averaging a 4.5/5 rating in the Google Play Store. Adobe Creative Cloud apps have been downloaded over 165 million times.

“Today’s global workforce requires the versatility to support the growing number of mobile professionals—those who need to get their work done as quickly, easily, and securely as possible from a variety of locations including the office, conference room or even a photo shoot thousands of miles away,” said Injong Rhee, CTO of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our partnership with Adobe is a big step forward to help businesses in their mobile transformation by bringing the best productivity features in Adobe solutions to a new mobile experience only available with Samsung DeX.”
