Stronger Together: Supporting India’s Communities Amidst COVID-19
Today, as COVID-19 impacts the world all around us, we are all dealing with unprecedented challenges. In this situation, it is more critical than ever for everyone to come together as one. Adobe is proud to have announced a range of initiatives to offer support globally, and specifically, our India teams are actively working towards helping the country strengthen its defences to against the pandemic.
- Adobe India is contributing $1 million *(~INR 7.6 Crore) between American India Foundation (AIF) and Akshaya Patra Foundation (APF). The donation will help AIF source much-needed ventilators for hospitals, along with preventive/hygiene kits for frontline and migrant workers. The grant for Akshaya Patra will provide over 3 million meals to impacted families. With this, our global commitment stands at $4.5 million in support of organisations that are providing vital assistance to those most in need.
- We have raised $393,334 (~INR 2,96,73,117) for local NGOs through our 2:1 matching grant program in India. Under this program, we matched and doubled our employee donations to organizations that are providing direct COVID-19 relief efforts in India, including PM CARES Fund and others like Action Aid, Parikrma Humanity Foundation, Help Age India, Akshaya Patra Foundation and Charities Aid Foundation. Employees eager to help are also encouraged to get involved in our virtual volunteer program, where we continue to identify new opportunities with our non-profit partners as they go digital in response to COVID-19.
- Our Adobe Document Cloud team is proud to have worked with Caruna, an initiative by the Civil Services Association in India, to develop a streamlined process for food distribution to migrant workers and families in distress. Team Caruna were looking for an effective way of automating their process – which included collecting NGOs’ data on families, procuring required ration from suppliers, working with packagers to wrap the food, and finally, supplying the food packages to NGOs for distribution. Using Adobe Sign’s Custom Workflows and Web Forms, team Caruna were able to automate their end-to-end supply-chain workflow in a matter of days, thereby enabling timely distribution of essentials to those who need it the most.
- As believers in the incredible power of creativity, in additional to our global initiatives, we are enabling India’s students and educators through greater access to Adobe Creative Cloud desktop appsand free distance learning resources. As a part of our Adobe Digital Disha program and partnership with Niti Ayog’s Atal Tinkering Labs, we are undertaking a series of digital workshops for professional development of teachers to help them imbibe digital skillsets and unlock the creative expression of their students.
For all of us at Adobe, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our employees, customers, and communities where we all live and work. As the situation with COVID-19 unfolds, our teams globally and in India remain committed to giving our entire ecosystem the support and resources to navigate this difficult time.
