At Adobe Substance 3D, we’re always listening to the needs of game developers. At GDC this year, we’ve unveiled powerful updates designed to help you work faster, create with more precision, and bring your artistic vision to life more easily than ever before.

Level up your game art with the new release of Substance 3D Painter

Bringing your game assets to life just got even easier with the new release of Substance 3D Painter.  Filled Path is a new Path Type that lets you ‘fill in’ a shape traced on a model’s surface. With  real-time updates from assets imported from Adobe Illustrator, Substance 3D Designer, or Substance 3D Sampler, you can seamlessly refine textures without breaking your creative flow.  Path improvements  now give you greater precision and flexibility — paths can now snap to geometry, be used as a measuring tool, allow for easy copy-pasting between masks and content layers, and more. The new automatic cage option for baking texture maps makes this task much easier and reduces the time required to get your precise result. And the new unified export window  streamlines exporting, ensuring you spend less time managing files and more time crafting stunning visuals.

More realism, more control: a preview of the latest Substance 3D Designer

For those crafting high-quality materials, the latest Substance 3D Designer update introduces improved rendering technology for even more realistic previews. USD support makes it easier to move assets between applications, and new usability enhancements — including rich tooltips — mean you can focus on designing, not troubleshooting.

Unmetered 3D Assets: create 3D scenes faster

Say goodbye to download limits. With unmetered access to over 20,000 materials, models, and lights in Substance 3D Assets, you can experiment freely without worrying about restrictions. Whether you need hyper-detailed sci-fi materials or historically inspired textures, our ever-expanding library — including new Signature Collections from top artists such as Anna Koroleva and Niki Marinov — ensures you have what you need to build immersive worlds.

Substance 3D Indie Bundle: pro tools, affordable pricing

Independent creators can now access professional-grade tools at an affordable price with the new Substance 3D Indie Bundle, available on Steam for $24.99 per month. This bundle includes Painter, Designer, and Modeler, along with a curated set of assets — giving smaller teams and solo developers the same powerful resources as AAA studios.

Seamless workflows: expanding integrations across your pipeline

We’re making it easier than ever to integrate Substance 3D into your workflow, with deepened support for Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, 3ds Max, Maya, and more. Plus, with expanded USD support, moving assets between applications is smoother and more efficient — helping you spend more time creating and less time troubleshooting.

Empowering the next generation of game artists

Great tools are only part of the equation — supporting the next wave of 3D talent is just as important. That’s why we’re launching a new student program, giving aspiring artists the opportunity to develop their skills and showcase their work at GDC. If you’re at GDC this year, be sure to visit our booth (Moscone Center, South Hall, #S427) to see some of the incredible projects created by these emerging talents.

Your tools, your vision, your future

At Adobe Substance 3D, our mission is to empower you to create without limits. Whether you're an indie developer, a AAA studio, or an artist looking to refine your craft, our latest updates are designed to give you more flexibility, efficiency, and creative freedom.
