Adobe & Figma update
In September of 2022 when we announced our intent to acquire Figma, we shared our vision to jointly advance product design, accelerate collaborative creativity on the web, and redefine the future of creativity and productivity.
I want to thank our community and Figma’s community for the passion and support you’ve voiced about what we could deliver together.
Since the announcement, the deal has been undergoing regulatory review by various agencies: the Competition and Markets Authority in the UK, the European Commission in Europe — who both have objections to the transaction — and the Department of Justice in the U.S.
Unfortunately, after over a year of engagement with these agencies, both companies agree that there is not a clear path to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals and have agreed to mutually terminate the merger agreement.
Through this process, it has been a pleasure to get to know Figma’s employees and their community. We will continue to look for ways to partner with Figma to delight our joint customers.
As we turn our sights to 2024 and beyond, we’re excited to build on the incredible innovation we delivered in 2023. It’s been an amazing year filled with mind-blowing releases, across Firefly, Creative Cloud, Express and Acrobat. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community. Thank you for your inspiration, feedback and always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with our products. Our pipeline of innovation has never been stronger, and the next generation of digital experiences will be more engaging and inspiring than we can imagine. We are grateful to be on this journey with all of you and are excited for the year ahead.
