How Adobe is transforming its employee experience with Adobe CX Enterprise

Adobe Life and Adobe CX Enterprise

At Adobe, we believe our employees deserve the same exceptional digital experiences we strive to deliver to our customers. As the first users of our technology, they are also our most authentic advocates and sharpest critics, helping us continuously improve how we connect, engage, and support our workforce.

That belief lies at the heart of the Adobe Life app, our newly reimagined employee experience designed to make everyday life at Adobe simpler, more connected, and more personalized. Powered by Adobe Experience Manager, Journey Optimizer, Customer Journey Analytics, and Real-Time CDP, the Adobe Life app is now available to more than 30,000 employees.

By moving away from third-party vendors and rebuilding the app using Adobe technology, we've created a modern, connected platform that brings the information, services, and resources employees need into one place.

Creating a simpler, more connected employee experience

Previously for our employees, navigating the workday often meant moving between multiple apps, websites, and systems to find the information and services they need. Whether checking company news, planning a commute, ordering lunch, or booking a meeting room, each task could require a different destination. We saw an opportunity to simplify these everyday interactions and create a more seamless, connected experience.

Today, the Adobe Life app is an all-in-one mobile front door for our employees — consolidating 10 different apps with an integrated suite of Adobe solutions that were purpose-built to deliver unified customer journeys. Only in this case, the customers are our employees. Employees can now stay informed with company news and updates, discover events and connect with their workplace community, plan their commute, order food, book meeting rooms, and access support, wellness and security resources, and more, all in one convenient mobile app.

Creating a connected experience is about more than bringing services together. It's also about making those experiences more relevant. We wanted to give employees the same level of personalization via the Adobe Life App that we give Adobe customers.

With Adobe Real-Time CDP and Adobe Journey Optimizer, we can better understand employee needs and deliver targeted communications based on factors such as location, role, and stage in the employee journey. For example, new hires receive timely notifications that help them navigate the pre-boarding and onboarding process at Adobe, find important resources, and get the information they need when they need it. In India, this approach helped reduce new-hire inquiries by 20 percent, making it easier for employees to hit the ground running in their roles while cutting 100 hours from the team’s onboarding workflows.

The best indicator of the Adobe Life app’s impact is the rapid adoption we’ve seen. Within one month of launching, the app had more than 11,000 monthly active users (MAUs), providing 35 percent of our workforce with a centralized destination for the workplace services, information, and engagement. Employees voted with their stomachs, too, with 50 percent of food orders across our offices now made via the app.

Transforming how teams work together

Behind the employee experience, Adobe technology is transforming how our internal teams work. Disconnected systems and manual processes previously made it difficult to deliver consistent communications, coordinate campaigns, and respond quickly to evolving employee needs. Today, the combined power of Adobe Experience Manager, Real-Time CDP, Journey Optimizer, and Customer Journey analytics is helping our internal teams to work more efficiently and effectively across content creation, personalization, employee analytics, and governance.

For our employee communications team, Adobe Experience Manager has greatly simplified content management. The team previously used a third-party vendor to manage content for the app, which meant our communication channels weren’t connected. As a result, the team had to manually duplicate, paste, and publish company news and updates into the app for different channels and regions. Thanks to a headless Experience Manager integration, the team can now create employee-facing content just once and make it available across digital touchpoints. This capability eliminates manual processes and cuts overhead costs while bringing consistency to Adobe’s internal storytelling across roles, devices, and touchpoints.

Adobe Journey Optimizer and Real-Time CDP are also making employee communications more efficient and relevant. Teams can now segment employee audiences and support each with content that speaks to their needs in the moment. During Adobe events, for instance, we can create a schedule of push notifications and go-live times and push them out to attendees automatically rather than coordinating manual campaign execution across time zones. The turnaround time for app notification campaigns alone has shrunk from one week to less than 48 hours.

We're also building a more data-driven approach to improving employee experiences. With Customer Journey Analytics, our teams can better understand how employees engage with content and services, identify friction points, and use those insights to inform future improvements. Together, these capabilities are helping us move beyond disconnected tools and manual processes toward a more agile, efficient approach to employee experience.

What’s next for Adobe Life

The Adobe Life app is more than a simple update. As we embed the app’s capabilities more deeply into our teams’ everyday workflows, we are building a foundation for continuous improvement across the digital employee experience.

New use cases for the Adobe Life app are on the horizon, including integrations with key HR operations like employee benefits. Today, we are working towards enhanced personalization with Real-Time CDP and Journey Optimizer, as well as richer content and event experiences built on the personalization capabilities within Experience Manager.

The Adobe Life app is just one of the many ways in which we are reimagining digital employee experience using our own solutions. Whether they’re checking the news, ordering lunch, or strategizing how to optimize their time at a major sales conference, we continue to make their lives easier and more productive each day, backed by the best tools for the job.
